They hurt him, but they hurt the Democrats too by causing them to defend and rally around these kooks and focus attention on them as the face of the party.

It's a race to the bottom that Trump and the Democrats both seem oddly keen to win.

Help him with his mob, but hurt him with independents. Dems are already so disgusted with him, it doesn't matter.

Independents are the deciders.

What do you think? Will legal immigrants be offended? I'm thinking yes.

What would you think if you were living legally in another country and the whackjob president starts a 'send them back' movement? I'd feel extremely uncomfortable, and if I could vote, I would not vote for the guy spewing that garbage.

Exactly and he realizes he needs the Independents at the end to win which us why he is lying trying to backtrack what happened yesterday

Possibly this motivates minorities and young people to vote in higher numbers versus prior elections. Could increase turnout in 2 groups that usually have historically low voter turnout. An increase in turnout for one or both of these groups helps Dems. One of the reasons Hillary lost MI is because of low minority turnout. She lost MI by 10,704 votes.

So here's the thing: I don't think they gain him any new voters, but I don't think they gain the left any new voters either. So, in that strict sense, they help him by not hurting him.

On the other hand, they tend to energize both bases, which I see helping Trump more than the Dems unless black voters were somehow energized to vote in higher numbers than they did in 2016; that's unlikely to happen. Note, THIS is the real reason why all the phony cries of racism are being made over an objectively racially neutral post. Energized Trump voters (without the energized black voters) sets him up well to win the same states he did last time. I am more energized to vote for Trump over the phony claims of racism than I have been recently. I won't stand by and let the Dems try to take the country over a lie (like they did with the "grab 'em by the *****" comment) without doing my part to stop that from happening.

I bet you also thought Hillary Clinton was going to win in 2016 too.

Independents are flocking to Trump, not to the party that defends Omar.

More than anything independents are heading for the exits and hoping a touch of sanity returns to the political scene before they have to hold their noses and pick between one of these clown shows.

Who has the packed rallies and who doesn't? That says it all.
