I agree with this, but there's a 'but'. Even if it hurts him right now with those voters, in the end it comes down to the Dem candidate. If it ends up being Harris or Sanders (or another progressive-type), I don't think they'll pull too many of those same votes. Harris is pretty much a de facto member of the squad, at least with what she's campaigning on right now, and I don't think it's resonating with Independents.

If the election was happening in a month -- hurt him.

Since we are a year and bit away --- depends on so many other factors.

Every key Democrat Presidential Nominee hopeful has made an official statement or two condemning Trump's tweets.

I would like one person to ask Trump to specifically identify what these women said to get him upset. I suspect Trump doesn't know exactly what they said, he's just responding to Fox News reactions.

I would agree with you on the time frame. But the problem is that this won’t be the last time Trump does this or something even worse before November 2020. He will keep playing on division until Election Day

The majority of his rally going members are not there to hear a uniting the Nation message. They are expecting a show where they can chant”Lock her up”, “ Send them back” and other chants at specific Americans that Trump will point out as the enemy of the nation.

President Trump has branded the democrat party with the faces of the petulant, immature, politically extreme, anti American brats. What he's lost, he never had = zilch, nada, zip, naught, zero. What he gained is, a giant mental billboard of the squad.

I do not like the direction of the discourse, but it works in politics. I do not like "send them back", but I have no issue with love it or leave it. Look at this whole chaotic political BS within the context of all the demagoguery or current events.

Nancy Pelosi needs to put a muzzle on them. They can't win against the bully pulpit and all this crap makes the dems look out of control.

It tend to agree the specifics of the recent dust up are likely to be old news by election day. But this does indicate the basic approach Trump plans to use in the general election: Double down on racially charged rhetoric and really try to exploit the racial and cultural divisions of the country.

I thought he may try to run a more traditional message on the economy and painting the Dems as too far left wing. But I don't think he has the moral basis or temperament to do so.

You can't name 1 major msa that went to Trump over Clinton...so yes, his only base is Rural Murica.

And no he won't lose the support of that rascist uneducated base...but it could hurt by driving out more African Americans and Latinos to the polls this time around. Less of them actually voted in 2016 compared to 2012 and 2008...if they vote at the same participation rate that they did in 2012, Trump is going to big just like McCain and Romney did. Hopefully his rascist tweets will lead to greater minority participation in this election so we can be rid this company of this terrible mistake in the oval office.

Not only that, things have changed a lot since 2016. He has a long list of accomplishments, and the economy is booming. Even Leftists are making lots of money and living well. Compare the economy today, with the sluggish 'barely there' Obama economy — never achieved 3% GDP. Obama said, "1% is the 'new normal'" We recently just broke 4%. Stock Market is still breaking records. Manufacturing jobs are back (guess Trump has that "magic wand"), unemployment is the lowest in 50 years, and 'black' unemployment is the lowest in history.

Meanwhile, all the Democrat candidates are talking about is impeachment and socialism. Everything will be "free." Right. Those things are not selling well with the majority of Americans.

'The Squad' has become the Face of the Democrat Party. They are socialists, and every Democrat candidate has hitched their wagon to these four lunatics who hate America and everything it stands for. Omar has said it was "founded on racism."

Democrats are totally out of touch with mainstream America. Pushing the "Green New Deal" is a loser. You cannot generate enough electricity to power the country on wind and solar, which is more expensive anyway, and we will never not need oil, gas and coal. Air travel cannot be eliminated, and "high speed rail" is a waste of money (look at where the California experiment is for the answer - it's way over budget, and it's basically stalled).
Lordstown, OH, an area that bought into Trump, says hello...GM just closed their plant there and sent production to Mexico. No, manufacturing is not coming back.

You're a delusional nutjob if you think this...very typical of the deplorables that support this man.

Even the most adamantly opposed person, can do the math and see the accomplishments. Not agreeing or being obsessed with political opposition to president Trump, doesn't/can't change the math.

Check your wallet.... you're welcome.
My wallet is no better now than under Obama.

I can't think of a 1 good accomplishment of the man...he's continued Obama's great economy but his tax cut will eventually cause a bubble just like Bush's did.
He put 2 absolutely terrible justices on the Supreme Court which is swung the court too far to the right.
Trade war with China...already international investment has declined hugely. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/21/u...trade-war.html
Pulling out of Paris Climate Accords...and the working Iran Nuclear Deal.
War on Healthcare by taking away the ACA.
Cozies up to communist dictators like Putin and Kim Jong Un (more like takes orders from Putin since Russia helped him get elected)

No this president has no good accomplishments for America or the World.

If you're in the top 5% then the Trump Economy is quite good. But for the average American worker, wage gains have been modest. Not a lot of the prosperity has trickled down to the lower levels.
Trickle down is a farce...it has never worked...it only leads to a wider gap between rich and poor and a shrinking middle class.
