In my personal opinion, I don't think anyone won the debate last night but here are the poll results from MSNBC.

Obama was the obvious winner. He got in the best slap when Clinton was harping on William Ayres who was a member of one of those radical 60s groups when Barack was 8 years old. Obama came back and said such and by the way your husband pardoned 2 of them himself. Ouch!!!

Put down the pom-poms. Obama could have no-showed the debate and you would still be claiming he "won".

From what I've read, the real losers were the American people. I'm not sure that winning this 'debate' would be something that would mean much, so I really don't care who 'won', winning would probably feel like a pyrrhic victory at best.

McCain was. And he didn't even have to be there.

I agree with J33. We sat and commented about how the moderators thought they were there to feed the tabloids and join in the debate. They were supposed to moderate not participate, but it appears that the journalism is dead, and I usually respect both of the moderators and was looking for a real substanative debate, because we seem to have forgotten what the candidates stand for after all this time. For example, when we finally got to it, we heard that Hillary has plans for a NATO like alliance for the Middle East and that Barack will raise taxes on people who make 100 thousand or more to support social security. More of that kind of discussion would have been better in my mind.

Was that a debate? I thought ABC had a paid political commercial. I would like to know if anyone else saw McCain nod off? And who provided the ABC with the questions? And who will be there for John at 3AM?

45 minutes of Hillary and the moderators telling us stuff we heard all week. Although I didn't know and am not surprised that Hillary brought up Ayres comment but Barack had a good come back. Why would Bill Pardon those guys. Its like saying not guilty. What was he thinking. I use to love the Clintons but not now. She has opened my eyes to what they are really like. Keep up the negative campaigning and it will be over soon for the Hill & Bill Team.

I thought it was the worst debate. I am sure those Pennsylvania were so disappointed not to hear anything of more substance that related to them. Half of the debate was wasted on the same old things over and over again.

I liked Jon Stewart's take on the debate, especially the part at a minute and a half into this clip of his show last night.
