Plus, said judge is well known conservative, and a member of the Federalist Society.
You see, back in the day, President's would select qualified people to sit on the court, whether they be Democrat (whom Obama favored, of course) or Republican.
I looked into this and it appears that his appointment by Obama was part of a deal with the Republican Senate to get other judges confirmed. He was hand picked by the Republican Senate.
A liberal Obama judge dismissed the case? What a surprise!
The judge foolishly helped Trump by accelerating the path for appeal to the Supreme Court.
Except he's not a liberal.
He's a member of the Federalist Society, like just about all of the conservative SC judges, and like zero of the liberal SC judges.
Do try to keep up.
And having a case dismissed with prejudice for lack of evidence is simply not a fast track to an appeals court. It's a significant roadblock that requires serious lawyering to overcome.
Who's your law prof - Rudy Giuliani?
BTW, if your news source on this didn't tell you that Brann is a well-qualified conservative jurist, I'd say that your news source is not telling you the whole truth about anything, and you might want to seek another.

Trump is pushing hard on the legislators to not allow certification. You'd think outright election interference would be illegal, but apparently it's not.

I've often said, the devil is in the details. The legislators didn't lie....they said they'd follow the law. They just forgot to say...ohhh yeah the guidelines say our canvessers CAN resist certifying.
Do I think it's shady interference. ..of course! Yet the laws always favor political leaders...after all they make the law so they can slip by.
Governor Wolf expanded mail voting (maybe because of COVID?) before the Primary in the Spring. Why didn't they challenge it THEN? Think any judge is going to disenfranchise over 2M voters NOW?

Talk about desperation of Republicans.
Fortunately, the Supreme Court has held that rules in place before an election may not be changed after the fact. The time to bring a challenge would have been before the election.

No one is disputing that. Illegal changes to election rules were made before the election:
Quote:
That suit claims Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar changed the rules hours before Election Day, allowing voters who messed up their mail in-ballots to “cure them” or fix them by casting a provisional ballot.
This is like the head ref in an NFL football match changing the game rules hours before the game, but doesn't have the authority to do so. Game rules have to be changed by NFL constitution procedures.
Assume the game was played anyway, with illegal rules. One team won. One team lost. Is the game legit just because it was played? I think the remedy would be to set the official score to zero to zero. The head ref ruined it for all.
