I think if you called your thread, "Obama plans to disarm America"... you'd get more interest.

I think some of it is wishful thinking on Obama's part but most of his ideas are pretty good. Where is 'I will stand by muslim' in this?

Obama is proposing reducing military spending. What's the big deal? $550 billion dollar military(not counting nuclear weopons budget or the VA) budget isn't used for Iraq. We spend additional $100(approx) for Iraq war equipment, solider pay and etc.
Frankly, I prefer to cut current $550 billion military budget(not including VA or iraq war) by about $200 billion to pay down the debt(we have a $3 to 4 trillion foreign debt) or a income tax cut. Just image a $200 billion per year income tax cut.

Sounds GREAT!! This is exactly what the US needs to do. So what is your problem with it?

Would someone please tell this knucklehead that his job would be commander in chief of our armed forces.
Typical loon idea when we need our military to be large, strong and fully ready this loon wants to cut it down.
Sure he will stand with muslims, fact is he will be their inside man.

We spend more on our military than the rest of the world combined.

I think we could focus our tax dollars on something else and still be able to destroy the world many times over. Smart defense policy would focus more on intelligence and less on funding the pockets of defense contractors anyways.

And again, where did Obama say the scaaaaary quote you acclaim to him? Besides being more of the same anti-muslim bigotry prevalent among the right wingers on these boards, it shows you don't even understand the very basic rules of using quotation marks.

It's another desperate troll post. My hope is internet readers are smart and can see through the hype and propaganda. The internet is a great source of information and unfortunately, misinformation as well.

Sheesh! How many times do I and others have to say this? WE AREN'T PAYING FOR THE IRAQ WAR! It's a totally off-budget item! We are borrowing the money (all of it) from the Chinese!! This gets ADDED to the National Debt.

If we stopped the whole war tomorrow, you wouldn't get a tax cut! You still owe your share of the War in Iraq that we haven't paid for PLUS THE INTEREST!!

Pentagon recommends closing 30-plus major military facilities

"The proposed changes also include significant reductions of forces at another 29 major bases.
The 28-page document, sent to the nine-member Base Realignment and Closure Commission, known as BRAC, marks the first step in a politically charged process that will end with a congressional vote near the end of the year. (Full story)
It calls for changes in all 50 states, with a net loss of 10,782 military positions and 18,223 civilian positions"
