The process to be the Democratic nominee is measured by one metric, delegates. It, like the general election is based on delegates.

In the Democratic process, the contests that award delegates are primaries and caucuses.

Even if popular vote were a measure, it could NOT be tabulated because caucus numbers could not be translated into that figure.

One might as well throw, um, bowling scores (which based on the media they seem to think is a metric too) into the mix, since it has the same relevance as popular vote.

agreed....and since it is so close in the popular vote and those caucus figures are unknown, no one really knows who ACTUALLY won the popular vote.

All that is correct. Plus, you can't count Mi in the popular vote total, considering Obama wasn't on the ballot.

Popular vote with Fla

Obama-17,266,433
Clinton-17,100,677 Obama+165,756

However as the OP states...it's all about the delegates.

If I hear another Clinton person complain about it isn't fair. How can you go from prohibitive favorite to crying that it isn't fair. What did her campaign do wrong. That is the question. Not accusations but introspection and self reflection on her campaign.

Soon she Obama will have his real victory and Hillary will have her moral victory making it as close as possible. Then the various camps can kiss and make up and work together for a Democratic victory in November.

If she wins in the next primaies she can be the popular vote leader. But it wouldn't get ehr the nomination but it creats problems for Obama in that he has no mandate coming from democrats. He will have won by the super deleagte making the lest popular nominee in the party since I can remeber.Hillary wi have gotten more popular votes than any noimnee in democartic history also.
