Of course it's all about votes. Yoo hoo, this is an election! Voters want to see how the candidates will behave during situations like this, and they saw Obama behaving like a president.

Get indignant if you wish, it doesn't matter. All that matters is thousands and thousands of people in the Midwest are now changing their votes to Obama. If a natural disaster hits Ohio or West Virginia sometime this summer he’ll really clean up.

Michelle was probably directing him from the sidelines. Why wasn't she out there too? Isn't she the one who is preaching that people should go into public service??? Well, filling those sandbags to help folks can't get any more public service-y than that!!! Where are you Michelle??? Michelle??? Go do your public service Michelle!!! Show people that you practice what you preach Michelle.

And here's a thought, don't tell the media that you are going to do this next time .. makes ya look like a big fat phoney. Or in Obama's case, a big boney phoney. ""

You act like these actions are just so kind and sincere by the candidates.
Only Obama's phony 1-hour photo-op is considered sincere by the Obamatons. I guarantee you; If McCain would have thought of it first, he would have been criticized by these zealots. ""'

I think over the course of McCain's service to our country, he has done a lot more than filled 15 sandbags.

This is absolutely true. But the truth is none of them can win. If they don't hand out the ice, fill the bags, look like they're getting their hands dirty, everyone would be screaming "Where are they????!!!"

God forbid that they do their real jobs which is supposed to be running our government and trying to keep us safe from people who are desperately trying to kill all of us.

We don't put these men and women in office to fill sandbags, hand out ice, bowl, play basketball or decide whether to guzzle beer sip brandy ... we put them in office to run our country and make sure someone else is filling the sandbags and handing out the ice.

LOL, I totally agree. These kinds of gestures have always struck me as silly and empty... but I'm a realist. What I think doesn't matter. What matters is, they mean a lot to victims, and they bring in the votes.
