Obama along with the democratic talking points repeat that the Big Oil companies already have enough plots assigned to them in the US without having to have more areas opened up for them to drill.

The American people however are seeing a trend to open up all possible areas for drilling and get started on it yesterday.

How long do you think it will take before Obama's handlers to convince him to flip on this issue...and try to make everyone believe that was his real plan in the first place...everyone just misunderstood his stance on this issue.

Dude, Obama will flip on this within the next few weeks. No doubt about it.

This guy has no core values. He is worse than Hillary, in the sense that he will lie, flip, deceive, and say whatever it takes to get elected. He is more power hungry than even Hitler was in his quest for power. Obama is a fanatic leftist that will stop at NOTHING for power.

Congress is feeling the pressure and I can bet you that sooner or later, a vote will be called for opening up ALL federal lands for drilling and Democrats will HAVE TO vote for the drilling or face death in November.

This can be a key winning issue for the GOP. They have to come out with a complete plan for energy security: nuclear, solar, wind, flex-fuels, and DRILLING the living crap out of this inmense pool of oil that we have in the Rockies, in the Gulf, and in the Coasts, not to mention the barren wasteland of ANWR.

But the key here is also changing these damned restrictions on REFINING!! We cannot build or even fix parts on an existing refinery!! We need to be able to refine the damn oil or it won't do any good.

Obama is at risk here but idiot McCain needs to WAKE UP and attack him on this 24/7. McCain could destroy Obama's credibility and his tax, spending, and energy plan like crazy.

Rassmussein had Obama at 43% and McCain at 42% and that is factoring that Obama alone has damaged himself with his dumbass comments about Americans becing idiots who cannot speak 3 languages and that Americans have to speak Spanish to accomodate immigrants.

What the dems fail to understand is the Oil Business. The Oil industry needs to be able to drill where THE OIL IS! But the Dems want the industry to drill in locations where there is no large known locations of oil. So the Democrats are setting up the Oil Companies to fail. It is obvious they continue to want to be able to take control of the Oil Industry as a Govt run industry. Which will never happen!

Sounds like an awesome poll -- very bipartisan and intelligent. (rolls eyes)

Sounds like more than just democrats aren't understanding the oil business or drilling. Congratulations on the fascist poll, though.

Even if off shore drilling were approved this very second, it would take YEARS for oil companies to send engineers over there to diagnose the correct approach, build the requisite apparatus and come on-line. It would have ZERO impact on oil prices today, and only marginal impact 10 years from now.

Its political dishonesty on the part of Republicans.

Oil Industry Leaders have publicly stated they could have oil available within 1 to 2yrs after being given a go ahead on pumping oil. And Anwar would even be faster.

Yes, they have said that.

It appears some dems/libs are gonna leave Obama out in the cold.

Again, look at the source of your argument. ENERGY TRIBUNE.

Gee, what a surprise that they would support the party that is pro-drill-everything-in-sight.

You get the dunce cap for an hour, my friend.

Top Democrat may back new offshore drilling: report | Politics | Reuters

How bout this left-leaning website that quotes Durbin? And Reid?

Quote:
NEW YORK (Reuters) - A top U.S. Democratic senator said in a newspaper interview published Wednesday that he would consider supporting opening up new areas for offshore oil and gas drilling.

"I'm open to drilling and responsible production," Senate Majority Whip Richard Durbin told The Wall Street Journal, adding that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid could also support the move.
You can have the dunce cap back, buddy. Along with the court jester suit.
