To be honest, had Hillary been the nominee, I would have been fine with her being president. I would have preferred a Republican, but I wouldnt have "feared" her being president like I do Obama.

He is the WRONG change for this country.

McCain/Palin, the REAL change Washington needs in 2008!
And the right change would be http://www.thedailyshow.com/full-epi...isodeId=184108

Excellent list. I agree!

It just amazes me that anyone can listen to all of Obama's giveaways or read them on his website and, while knowing how America has become a debtor nation, can be fine with that!

Why doesn't it sink in? He says he wants to lower taxes and he proposes increasing a whole lot of spending and he banks on most of it coming from savings from the Iraq war. Uh, hello Obama, we're not going to see a savings for a while -- withdrawing all of those troops and equipment is EXPENSIVE! Also, troop levels in Afghanistan are going to have to be increased.

It doesn't add up -- less tax money going to Washington and a huge increase in domestic spending. Why are people so dang DUMB?! Let's put it a way people can understand -- if your paycheck goes down and your expenses go way up, how are you going to handle it? Go into more debt? Wonderful.

I'm also frightened by how the mainstream media will not criticize him. Only avowed conservative sources dare to say anything negative about him. I don't know if this is because the mainstream media is afraid of looking racist (which of course criticism of him would mean, it couldn't possibly be based on substance). Imagine this kind of unfettered power in the WH...

To those who brought it up, I am not afraid of socialized healthcare, but 1) Obama's plan is not a socialized healthcare system, it is a pay plan and he hasn't even given us real numbers. He'll require by law that we cover our children, but what will it cost? 2) I don't believe we will have UHC anyway. It's an empty promise he's making to get into the WH.

It is REALLY starting to **** me off...this is ridiculous. It's actually affecting my opinion of him, though I'm still voting for him.

As someone who grew up with "universal health care" I can assure that it is not a workable plan. White coat doc flight is the norm in Canada and nurses strike a lot for more pay and there aren't enough beds and the list goes on and on... my friend thinks it's great that she pays a supplemental private dollar on top of her "free care" because it insures her a real room instead of a shared room and no phone--which is what my poor dad got after surgery that he waited for years for because he wasn't at risk--it was mitral valve replacement surgery that-- because it too so long to get, increased his chances for the complication of an aneurysm. He died of an abdominal aortic aneurism 5 years later after 3 surgeries to fix a problem that didn't need to happen. It was a horrible horrible way to go.

That is what FREE health care will get America. I am adamantly opposed to it for the reasons stated above and more--trust me--if you think it's hard to get a doc now, especially a general practictioner, then just wait to see what happens if you get universal free care--it's a bureaucratic NIGHTMARE.

I'm sorry to hear about your father. The problem is most of the people here that support universal health care have never had it and are just flat out ignorant. They like to pretend like they have some idea of what it takes to implement, but they don't. It's just more liberal ignorance.

I agree on every point, and have one to add.

He is promising everyone everything.
