To be honest, had Hillary been the nominee, I would have been fine with her being president. I would have preferred a Republican, but I wouldnt have "feared" her being president like I do Obama.

He is the WRONG change for this country.

McCain/Palin, the REAL change Washington needs in 2008!

I agree, all excellent points. I am especially disturbed by Omarxist's double speak line: "It's not about me, it's about you." Whatever happened to JFKs famous and timely: "Not what your country can do for you...."?? It is as if half the country is anxiously and greedily waiting for their Tit to Come In. The great welfare state is finally here to hand me my free goodies. Well, the sad and realistic news is, the goodies will eventually shrink and dry up. Any thought for what will be left for your children, your children's children..... Nah, just live for the day, they can take care of themselves. Obama will make sure they will have to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps. Because the country being left them will be in ruin.

Goes back to the old 60s hippy mentality, "live for today, who cares about tomorrow".... Is that really making a comeback by the Obama cult movement?

And the McCain people are not like cult members? People on here don't believe what is on the web about McCain. They are like those that fall for gurus and when they hear that their guru is sleeping around they say that the disciple that told them this is a liar. I think there is enough on this board to question McCain but many people like his war policies, don't care that he left his first wife for a another woman after she was in a accident and was disfigured, don't believe that he wasn't a hero because he gave information to the Vietanamese when he was a POW, don't care that he is hostile to others, even women, don't care that he has a lot of anger and blows his top, don't care that he wants to continue a war with Iraq when we should not be in it, don't care that 90 percent of the time he voted along with Bush. In fact, many may not even believe it just as the disciple doesn't believe that his/her guru slept around. Strange world. Politics on both sides are like a cult.

This isn't all aimed at the poster, because I do not know the posters beliefs.

I happen to believe in socialized medicine. I know how well it has worked in other countries, even France. I happen to know that what Rev. Wright said was true, because the Christians in our society have killed Indians, blacks, etc. The Christians happen to be terrorists the same as the extreme Muslims. Are we not now terriorizing Iraq? I don't happen to believe that all Christians are bad, after all the Quakers helped the Blacks and the Indians during those times. But who helped the Indians when the Christians came to Mexico and slaughered many in the name of God?

So why do you people fear Obama when the Christians have been no different? If you listened to McCain's convention you would have realized that it was much like a war rally, kill the extremist Muslims. What if I got up and said, "Kill the Extremist Christians?" And don't think that the so-called Christians are not busy wanting power so that they can change everything in Washington, take away people's freedoms, etc. Now that is what I call scary. When McCain says he wants to defeat evil, he may not stop with just the terrorists, and in fact he hasn't because we are now in Iraq killing innocent people, and it may not stop there.

At first when I heard Obama speak I was intrigued then disappointed (this was BEFORE) he decided to run for POUS. Someone had asked him about Darfur and he gave a wishy-washy answer (no substance whatsoever) and this was my first impression of him. I could respect a person if he had opposing view to me that sounded intelligent, but Obama gives answers that sound good but when it comes down to it... he rarely gives sound solutions to real problems (unless it's a question that's been asked a thousand times before - then his answers become more direct).

What concerns me the most however is his inexperience and liberal ideologies. If our country was in a better position I might take a chance on Obama. I could very well be wrong about him. But as it is, I cannot willingly give my vote to a man with so little experience when our ship is about to sink. I believe that right now the wheel of our economy is still spinning - although slowly. If Obama takes office - based upon his party, his ideas to increase tax revenue through higher taxation of businesses, capital gains tax increases (that effects the middle class - like me), and with a Democrat congress... I believe the private sector of the wheel of the U.S. economy will come to a grinding halt. We are very vulnerable right now and Obama's policies goes against basic macro-economic principles for economic recovery.

I am answering all of your fears in blue original poster... from my point of view and from someone who was once a Hillary Supporter!

1.) Lack of experience
All of this experience has not been working for the past 8 years. What Senator Obama offers is vision and refreshing new ideas
2.) He truly does not know what he's saying without a teleprompter (ex: inhaler durrrr, breathalizer, durrrr breathing machine speech)
He does, but he is one of those types that thinks while he is speaking, as to not say anything that will be misconstrued or taken out of context. He is just very careful to make sure his facts are straight. Nothing wrong with that. I would rather a person think about what they are saying rather than fly off at the mouth not saying much of anything, or with predictable knee jerk responses.
3.) His friends..Rezko, Ayers, and Hamas endorsed..Code pink..
He has never asked for their endorsement. Lots of people are endorsing him out of their own pleasure and will because he is different and new and are just fed up with the last 8 years.
4.) Liberal as you can get, socialist ideas
What is wrong with being liberal? Liberals are open minded. Why is Obama accused of being socialist because he cares about the well being of his fellow citizens. We as human beings should care for one another and help each other achieve the American dream. Achieving the dream isn't as easy for some people, some people need help getting a head start. I would expect Republican Christians to understand that above all else.
5.) Change that will NEVER work. UHC will never happen, and is a bad idea. He states he wants to lower taxes. I'd like to know where he'll get the money to do so.

If everyone thought as negatively about possibilities as you do, then we'd never had made it to the moon, or outer space even. Pessimists never get anywhere further. Obama is an optimist and he can see the future, has a vision for it and that is what this country desperately needs.... vision! Obama recognized that the country needs change from very very early on, and now the Republicans are finally catching on as did Clinton and add it to their own campaign Obama is the one that we all need now. Also, if you listened he said that he would cut federal programs that aren't being used or are not needed. Also, the billions that we are spending in Iraq will help out a great deal when we withdraw our troops and give the Iraqis their own responsibility over there!

Liberals are only open minded when you agree with their views. If not, watch out. For proof, look at all the student activists at the Republican convention physically attacking delegates. The won't fight for their own country, but they will fight anybody who doesn't agree with them in this country.

Also, for all of you who think that Obama is a racist, how much common sense is that? He was raised by his White family!

Also liberals look at the world with an open mind... for what it is! We are not afraid of the truth no matter how ugly it is. I don't care how great you all feel America is, this country has an ugly history along side with it's noble one, senator Obama recognizes that! He doesn't pretend, his associates don't pretend! Some of his associations reflect people who see the evil that needs to be addressed, reconciled, and fixed in this country. He recognizes it all and wants to work to fix it! He is able to look at the diverse set of problems in this country and because of that up close and personal experience will be able to come to a resolve. You can't just surround yourself with like minded people and expect to get anywhere new!!!

Republicans only seem to surround themselves with people like themselves, while democrats get down to dirty business, saturate themselves in what we live in and can take a real hard honest look at the problems that we face! Why on else do you think the Bush administration and his successor McCain does not think there is an economic problem? They are out of touch!

He probably has more understanding of the ideology of terrorists and activists than the Bush/McCain administration! You have to get to know your enemy, you have to find out their rationale behind such acts. Bill Ayers is not an associate the way you all are claiming, what he did was while Obama was a toddler. It's amazing how you link the two in this day, like he had anything to do with the activities! A smart person does not discriminate against people because they have differences, a smart person will maintain that acquaintance to learn more about their positions and try and understand their rationale!
