Why don't wealthy Democrats who believe in wealth redistribution just voluntarily give away all their money to those who are less fortunate?

This is the Obama philosophy isn't it? Wealthy folks who believe in this don't need to be forced by law to redistribute wealth. What are they waiting for? The middle class needs help now. Right?

"This is the Obama philosophy isn't it?"

No advocating a more progressive tax structure doesn't have a thing in the World to do with "giving away all your money".

Likewise, wanting to help the poor doesn't mean you must become poor.

(This has been another addition of simple answers to stupid questions)

OK, so I exaggerated.

How about if wealthy Dems made sure that they could live like upper middle class folks? They could still help folks who are less fortunate. It really is about caring isn't it? They could start right now. Why does the government have to be involved?

Obama's tax cuts ( stimulus checks ) aren't going to be helpful enough anyway.

What Democrats describe as a "progressive tax structure" is nothing more than an attempt to turn American against American, creating class warfare. This, at a time when 40% of the "poorest" Americans pay NO INCOME TAX AT ALL! We already have way too much of the populace not pulling their own weight.

I'm willing to pay more taxes if it means fixing a broken economy and country. Any other questions?

Yes. You can pay more into the government than what you owe after your taxes have been prepared. Do you? Voluntarily?
