Race to the Finish : Obama and the Echoes of Lincoln (http://blog.newsweek.com/blogs/racetothefinish/archive/2008/10/06/obama-and-the-echoes-of-lincoln.aspx - broken link)
Lincoln was hated and feared just like Obama and he turned out to be our greatest president.
OH boy,you should see some of the stuff that comes from some people from the south that are on another board I am on,they absolutely HATE Lincoln!! They are convinced he was a "war criminal" and "The south's gonna rise again!' etc. They are also rabidly anti-Obama.

Yes, you're right. I was gonna add that people in the south still hate Lincoln to this day but forgot to. Thanks for adding that, tho...

Lincoln = opposed the Mexican American war when he was in Illinois state legistature
Obama = opposed the Iraq war when he was in Illinois state legistature
Lincoln = was the target of an extremely racist presidential campaign where his conservative opponents claimed he was half-black
Obama = need I say more?
The Lincoln=Obama analogy is chilling...........suffice to say: if Obama does win that he is not assassinated down the road.
