So Obama is now claiming that he didn't know about Ayers' past. That's a load of BS and transparently lame. The facts are that obama has been trying to downplay this relationship (why, if it's no big deal), they worked together for years, he funneled money to Ayer's projects, he even wrote a blurb for the guys book back in 1997/1998.
Character, judgement, associations - Obama lacks credibility on all three.
Its hopeless to try to get these people to read facts. They want to believe that Obama is a radical, a Muslim, a terrorist, etc. Even if you point them to a billion sources that say otherwise, they will still say you are wrong because they "just know".
Their ship is sinking and they know it. They just don't know how to go down with dignity.
Clearly you are just repeating what you've heard - with no real knowledge yourself - and possibly embellishing things as you see fit.
1) Ayers never killed anyone.
2) Ayers never said "should have done more bombings, and wish they would have killed more people" He said he wished he had of done more" (to end the war):"The one thing I don't regret is opposing the war in Vietnam with every ounce of my being.... When I say, 'We didn't do enough,' a lot of people rush to think, 'That must mean, "We didn't bomb enough (sh*t). But that's not the point at all. It's not a tactical statement, it's an obvious political and ethical statement. In this context, 'we' means 'everyone.'"
But I guess the truth is just a "technicality"
I'm not defending Ayers actions, but YOU shouldn't have to LIE or embellish to make your case if it's that strong.
The fact is, Ayers has lived a law-abiding life for almost 30 years and Obama's links to him are pretty weak in any event. He knows the guy and worked with him on a couple of committees - one that was focused on school reform (OH MY GOODNESS - THAT MAKES THEM TERRORISTS!!!!) and another of fighting poverty (HOW UNAMERICAN!!!!!!).
Pretty damning stuff that is.

Are you suggesting that, just because he's live crime free life since the bombings, that we should just "forgive and forget"?
The economy is a legitimate subject. I would hope that obama researches his experts in economy better then he did his spiritual mentor and political friends, or we will all be eating obama cheese once a month -- if we are lucky.

This is irrelevant...and according to the polls it is irrelevant to everyone else...You need to find another smear to play on...It is getting old...talking about smears and the past...why not focus on what JM will do as president? Didn't Sarah Palin say to Joe Biden, "Now dog gone it Joe, stop pointing back to the past and lets talk about the future" in the last debate?
Do you really think this is going to shift any fence sitters? I think a man who calls his wife a c *nt or someone who sings a song about bombing Iran paints a better picture of character and bad judgement...
The smears are backfiring and meaningless to all but the most rabid (i.e., you, and some others here). They only matter to people who wouldn't have voted for Obama anyway.
OK- so a guy (Ayers) became an anti war activist in his 20s (late 1960s) . Said guy was never prosecuted. Almost 30 years later he is a Distinguished Professor at a large University and participates actively in various grass roots education initiatives.
Another guy, who was in elementary school while the first guy was an active radical and is a young idealistic lawyer meets this first guy almost 30 years later when he is already an established intellectual and highly regarded educator. He works on some projects with this first guy. First guy supports his political endeavors by hosting a coffee meet & greet at his home.
And first guy has not been in trouble with the law since the 60s.
What's the problem?
The problem is that you need some sense of rationale or logical thought to understand this - which is clearly severely lacking on the right.
We're not forgetting about the economy, neocons. No matter how hard you try...
This and his other dubious relationships is one of the reasons voters have their doubts about obama - Mac is right to call into question his character and judgement. Look at the people he has surrounded himself with - for years.
I guess that makes all of the elementary education majors that took classes with Ayers... TERRORISTS IN TRAINING.
