I was thinking that after the election this board will be filled with two things. People bragging that their candidate won. Some won't be nice as well as the fedback from that.Others will all of a sudden say something nice about the other ticket because who they voteed for won and it is easy to be nice then. I thought before it all sounds fake it would be nice to say something positive about the person that you are not voting for. I'm voting for Obama and I think he is the best person to lead this nation going forward and I think he will win. I won't say anything about Palin because it will not be true. For McCain I feel respect for him for his service to this country. I like when we see it his funny side. I also think that who McCain is has been taken from him or he left it go in the hopes that he could win. I think there is a man that we don't see who is really McCain and I would like to remember that man. Well it didn't hurt that much.

John McCain has certainly earned my respect and admiration. But Obama has earned my vote.

This is the kind of stuff I like in political discussions.

I am voting for McCain. My reasons for voting for McCain are pretty simple. The man has the knowledge and experience to lead (in general). He has seen it all. He has dedicated his entire working life to this Country. And, I agree with most of his policy.

Onto Obama. To be perfectly honest first, I don't agree with anything this guy says policy wise. Mike Huckabee said "I am not a Republican, because I grew up rich. I became a Republican, because I didn't want to grow up poor and waiting for the government to rescue me." This sums me up nicely. I, by definition; could be considered poor, but I don't want anyone to hold me up. I want to rise myself. Obama seems to want to coddle me and hold my hand. Please understand I don't mean this as an insult. It is a good thing to be caring and want to help - I just don't believe it is the governments job/place/right to do so.

That said, I think he is an intelligent man, who is very well spoken and charismatic. He has certainly shown that one can come from no where and be very successful. He appears to be a good husband and father as well.

I agree. I can't help wondering if his campaign would have fared better had it been controlled less by consultants & advisors and more by his heart & sould.

I agree, but could go on and on and on about John McCain.

Democrats for McCain

Great thread idea.

I'm voting for Obama.

I admire McCain for his service to our country. I think he's smart, tough and practical. The main reason I'm not voting for him is that I think his desire to be president has caused him to move away from his own political ideals and to embrace those of the far right. Not only do I not agree with the far right agenda, but I'm disappointed in him for giving up his own centrist beliefs.

I admire Gov. Palin for her guts and her ability to go from relative obscurity to competing in a national election without appearing to even take a deep breath. She's a great speaker and has an innate ability to appeal to a crowd. I think her stands on most issues are appalling and I don't think she's prepared for the job of VP.

Well, if I could decide, I'd find it scary that there is a possiblilty of the defense budget being cut back so badly, that many of us in the DOD field would lose our jobs. Something that can not be outsourced, but can be eliminated if budgets and funds are not available. I am concerned about our military not getting enough funding to finish the job they were ordered to start, yet caught in the middle of the politicians pointing fingers at each other on who wanted what and why. Their hazardous duty pay, being eliminated just because of the all mighty dollar sign that the anti war criers are worried about. It's only money folks, our military needs our support. The farmers in this nation, who don't chat on these boards, who are out early and in late to support their families and feed this country. If Mr. Obama is half the man he says he is, he will take care of the above. If not, he has no business running this country and if Mr. McCain has the experience and knowledge, along with his patriotism can not take care of the above, he has no business either. So on that note, whomever you all vote for, make sure it's about our country and not about getting another stimulus check!

John McCain has served this country almost his whole life. I respect his dedication, although I haven't always agreed with his ways and views.

Obama seems like a nice guy. He gives good speeches.

Chuck Baldwin has my vote though because I hope more true conservatives see the Rep party heading towards perpetual neocon ideas, and more centrist dems see the socialism manifesting in the Dem party, and then a new party can rise and help us lose the donkey/elephant every 4 years. I realize my hopes are a stretch, but its less of a stretch than thinking the Rep/Dem candidate is going to be great.
