I live in Chicago and I see how Senator Obama has let us down. One of his best friends, Governor Blagojevich, has the lowest approval rating of any governor in history. Senator Obama has failed Illinois, if you elect him, he'll fail you.

You need to add in the fact that Ross Perot was running as well and during that election, he pulled a great deal of people over to him from the Republican side. It was believed that if held that pull, he had a chance of winning.

The problem was that he dropped from the race and then came back in shortly before the election. This caused the votes behind him to fracture as many went back and voted for Bush while many still continued to support him.

If he would not have been in the election, chances are the race would have been much much closer and likely a Bush win.

This post is like 6 months late. If McCain had rallied his troops' support back in May-ish, things *might* look different in the polls for him, a day before the election.

Go Obama!

IBD has a vested interest in being accurate. CBS has a vested interest in Obama. On the morning of the 2004 election, CBS had Kerry up by 5%. I don't think even half intelligent liberals believe he has anything close to a 13 point lead.

Because of the third party candidate who took republican votes. Even Clinton admitted he won because of Perot. There is no Perot this year.

Ugh. I started reading thinking this was a refreshing change and maybe there was FINALLY going to be a shift in asking for support for your candidate. Then I got to the second paragraph. Your inability to support your candidate without tearing down his opponent is why you aren't winning. But keep up the good work, you have 1 more day of negativity then 4 years to zip it.

IBD is a right wing poll...that's fact. And while their performance was good in 2004 it was only average in 2000...missing the final margin by 2.5%.

You have a link showing CBS News had Kerry up by 5%? Because I have a link showing them having Bush up by 2%.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/bush_vs_kerry.html

BTW, the RCP average has Obama up by 6.9%...I think that's closer to the truth
