Votes matter don't they...Many of your "red states" are changing colors..

You mean some urban areas are growing, that's about it. Play with it all you want but the fact is the country's population is about equally divided. The reds are simply more spread out.

And no, in many cases votes don't matter. The votes of "red" voters in northern NY or southern IL amount to almost nothing. They're not represented by the government.

Aside from a few very liberal inner city areas across this great land, the rest is all moderate or conservative.

Remember that left wing whack job liberals next time you venture out across this great land. You know us folks who cling to our guns and religion? We occupy 99.2% of the land mass!

I've been to 49 of the states, and prefer the east coast (New England) and the west coast (from San Francisco to Seattle), and most of Michigan over every place else. Havent been to Alaska so I don't know if I'd like it there (like BC though).

I think most places are moderate overall. Election time there is no room for in the middle, and that is the problem.

I do agree, all votes should always count equally. BUT, it does make you think.
Inner city areas....wow, you're really not very bright.

What exactly are you trying to warn us against?

Sorry, but I live in both Alaska and in Central Oregon. Not exactly "liberal" country but not as you describe, either.

One last thought.

I'm on this RV trip, let's say I get 10mpg, I have an 80 gallon tank, that means I get 800 miles between fillups. If I drive from my hose in Philadelphia to my aunts house in LA, a distance of 2,717 miles, I will have to stop for gas about 5 or 6 times.

Let's say that each back road stop and rob has 2.5 employees, that would mean that I would run into 15 whole McCain supporters. Frankly I can meet 15 "inner city" people at the my first and last gas station. So, are you trying to say that the 30 people who I meet at the beginning and end of my trip are less important than the 15 I meet in between?

I don't think so.

Yup. Cliches are falling left and right. Every community in America has plenty of McCain voters, plenty of Obama voters, and usually a good number of 3rd party voters, too.

I was surprised to see so many Obama supporters in Dahlonega, a small mountain town in Georgia. When I bought a house there I just assumed it would be red-red-red. But turned out there were plenty of Obama supporters... just like there are in small towns all across the US. Whether you want to believe it or not.

If yard signs are any indication...and I'm not sure that they are--I've seen two Obama signs in my community and one McCain sign. Other than that, there are a few signs here and there for city council candidates. In my town in Alaska, last time I was there, Ron Paul signs were everywhere.

It's, "Of the people, by the people, for the people"-----Not, "Of the space, by the space, for the space". Let's get it right.
