PG77 we finally agree on something. To many voters go for the mob mentality and don't bother to ask simple questions.
examples:
1. Sounds great but how will it be achieved?
2. Talk is cheap what is the individuals actual voting record? Actions speak louder than words everytime.
3. He voted against a bill. What was attached to the bill? Often bills are voted against due to the pork attached. I would vote against any pork laiden bill.
Its sad that even after the election is over some folks can't accept that its final. Obama won. I did not vote Obama. I voted 3rd party. He is the prez elect. I will give him the fair chance he has earned.

You're right about that, Obama received a ton of those people voting for him.

I have to say, I sure am tired of the broad-based bad-mouthing of millions of people, while simultaneously attacking race.

"White trash" is an egregious phrase that has little place in common parlance, and no place in political discourse.

Not true....
It is a term that perfectly describes those who make the choice to live in ignorance. Those who knowingly make the choice to be less than productive, to be less than open minded to change, to disregard basic hygene.

White Trash is on par with some of the other, stronger, racial epithets. It's dehumanizing, and I agree with jps.

We don't like it when blanket terms are applied to us, so we need to rise above. It's not much different than what Rush listeners do when they hear something on his show. You're taking a phrase from someone who managed to get quoted in the media, and running with it.

Lastly - I am no angel - I do get snappish (obviously), but when I do it, I try to use qualifiers to indicate that I am not talking about all righties, republicans, conservatives, et al - something that seems to be lost on people like Rush and that person who was quoted in The Economist.

I on the other hand live in the sticks and know a few white trash families.
On welfare, excuses why they don't work. Sat tv but the kids are filthy ill mannered and in need of dental care. The yards are mini-junk yards. And it may be ironic but the parents are obease as are their children. Its my properdy I'll keep it any way i wan. Its my properdy if I wanna tie 6 dogs to 6 differn treez dats my rights. White trash at its best.

So you're saying that 48% of this great country are white trash. I'm sorry that you have such a low opinion of your fellow countrymen.
