Bush needs to arrange for "accidents" for these animals. At least the worst ones.
Better than even chance at least one of them is going to kill many people in one of their insane suicide bombs.
I have little sympathy for the jihadists in Gitmo. If they truly are threats, they should be dealt with harshly. But the Bush administration has had years to bring this situation to a close. Instead, they've neglected it and allowed it to fester, unresolved. It's just another bucket of raw guts they're leaving behind for the next guy to clean up.
What isn't being said is that there's a reason Bush hasn't brought these terrorists to trial. A trial would involve legal testimony under oath. That would reveal the extent of torture inflicted on the "high value" detainees, and that could lead to legal repercussions for the Dubyites. Their solution? Do nothing.
That's been their answer in so many situations, hasn't it...
Neglect and incompetence are the absolute clearest features of the Bush years and this is just another example. It's a situation of their creating, that they were unable to handle, and they're walking away from it, hoping that the guys who try to fix it take the heat.

If it must remain open awhile, please make room for Bush and Cheney - they have more blood on their hands than that whole prison put together.
OMG What do you people suppose will happen to those prisoners? I can only hope that Obama's campaign promises will be severely revised once he finds out how things really work.

What will ahppen> How about a trial, you know, innocent until proven guilty? - like civilized people are supposed to?
Now the most important question that remains is, what to do with these people since it seems pretty clear now that there isn't enough evidence to convict all of them.

Based on what I heard on NPR a few months ago, we do not have evidence to convict a majority of them. We also need to reinstate the right of Habeas Corpus. Constitution is what prevents us from being a monarchy or a dictatorship.
