That was Elizabeth Alexander, and, BTW, that was her own poetry she was reading. You know (or maybe you don't?), poetry is read a little differently than a regular speech or other prose. Seems like those "1/4 Black" folks already have something to teach us about culture.
I thought it was a wonderful poem. There was such a lovely flow from President Obama's speech to her poem to the benediction.
I didn't much care for the poetry reader or the Rev Lowery.
But I thought President Obama's little girls couldn't have been cuter. It'll be nice having little kids in the White House again.
It does give a more human feeling to the place.
