And thanks George W for the great job you did the past 8 years! Hurry back to Crawford now.. PLEASE..
Based on the glaring 2 mistakes above I can assume henceforth anything this person says is subject to scrutiny.
And I haven't checked the other states. I do know the governor of IL before the current idiot was a Republican and that one is in jail!
Okay thats 3 states of the above so far.. but it's not my job to do your research.
North Dakota has one of the lowest unemployment rates around and their Senators are.......democrats.
BTW, this subject of this thread is a waste of space.

I agree... the merit of this thread is questionable
perhaps we should all just let it die...

A lot of the 'Republican' Governors in solid Blue states are very moderate, if conservative at all. Plus, many of these states have legislatures dominated by Democrats, so a fiscally conservative platform can not be enacted. Many of the Republicans are simply RINOs (Republicans In Name Only). Blagojevich has been running IL for more than 6 years now. Again, Democrats have an overwhelming majority in the state legislature in all of these states (though the GOP held the NY state senate forever until the '08 elections). In MA, Dems outnumber Republicans almost 10:1 (literally) in the state legislature. These are solid Democratic states, though they have elected GOP Governors in the recent past. Obama got 60%+ of the vote in each of them.

I don't get the reference to Blago. He is a Democrat. Not that any of this has to do with the title of the thread. I'm fine with people of any color putting in for vacation and going to the inauguration. I wish I could go.

I wish I could take the day off! Unfortunately my children's librarian (I manage a library) already requested that day, so I have to do storytime for the kids at 10:30 - the first hour with our new President. My theme for the storytime will be presidents & voting, which hopefully the kids will enjoy... honestly though, I think it should be a national holiday/day off, along with voting day. That is the case in many other countries, so why not here?

The doctors, nurses, police and the like would still be working.

I'm taking the day off and if my boss don't like it...too bad, so sad. This should be a national holiday!!! If any disciplinary action is taken...I'll sue them for racial discrimination! Make my day!

Why should this be a national holiday?

Jeez, I guess I'll just sue my boss too. He should understand that I want the day off to see the "Savior". If you care about GDP or anything, like advancing in your job, then your right.

Thanks for your contribution.
