Because he was smart enough to implement the right approach...

Too bad you can't give him any credit...

Didn't you like the tremendous bounce in the market today!!!

Bob you are no better than the Obama haters and serve no great purpose in moving the dialogue of any argument further!
What argument is the op suppose to make? I believe the market made the argument reagardless of what "anyone" says (including Krugman, which I happen to respect very much). I believe the OP was an invetation to see what other people thought.

My opinion is, the initial reaction is good but only time will tell if it was genuis. I'm confident the administration will fix the economy, but I'm not going to say that any single piece of legislation was the magic bullet. I think there's going to be ups and downs but from what I can tell this was a big step.

The OP was all about the new Treasury plan to deal with toxic assets on bank balance sheets - or maybe you didn't bother to read that portion of his post - or the link he provided.

Yes - he is very happy the market responded very very positively - so am I.

He is definitely advancing dialogue, and he is far, far better than the Obama haters in my mind... he has made many many posts on this forum where he gives plenty of new ideas and cases to think about - you just seem to ignore that...

Yes - he is venting against some of the chronic Obama Hating that is so prevalent on this forum - and I don't blame him one bit!!! I fully support him!

So very many posts on this forum are disgusting.... why don't you rail against the threads like 'Dictator Obama has Spoken' - which is just absolutely typical for the trash that is posted day-in, day-out on this forum directing outrageous hatred towards the President?

I don't hear you saying peep about these hate-filled diatribes against Obama that appear by the dozens every week - so if you don't complain against them - don't expect your criticism above to be taken remotely seriously.

It will not be...

Right now the futures for tomorrow are down slightly.

At 7:22 they are down 18 points.

We shall see what tomorrow brings.

Bloomberg.com: Futures
As I'm SURE you know - it is normal for the market to pull back a bit after a huge rally - so tomorrow I would not be surprised at all if the market goes down - I'd say it is more likely than not... Many will be taking profits off the table.

As of right now though the futures are down far less than when you posted - they are down 1, not 18. and Asia is up significantly...

Tomorrow will be interesting...

I didn't take the time to read every post. I have a question. Where will the treasury get the money to cover all this? Gov money doesn't grow on trees. When they give money away they first take it from someone else. We are spending money like there is no tomorow. So who is going to finally pay the tab?
Not saying this is a bad move or a good move.
Seems like we are replaying past mistakes. Example. Joe used his credit card to buy a swimming pool. Joe can't afford the payment and now is using another credit card to make his payments on the first card. Joe needs to look for another job, or sell his house and buy something he can afford. He can't just keep going further in debt. Isn't this exactly how we got into this mess?

Sorry but I am not a republican and did not vote for Bush or McCain. Sheep look for a leader to follow blindly. The sheep following Obama are actually worse than the shhep that followed Bush for 8 years. They actually believe him. Scary stuff!

Exactly. Some day the piper has to be paid. It won't be me but my children and grandchildren. Why are people so blind to this obvious fact. Could it be because they are the people that did the very same thing that the government is now doing? Could it be because they are these same people with their hands out looking for a personal bailout? I think so!

From my point of view whatever the government does to protect my job, my pension and my social security is good enough for me. Allowing my job, pension and social security income to go away would damage me greatly. If these things have to be paid for by countless future generations that all the better. I will be dead.

I do not have any children.

One can only hope this was an attempt at humor. Its this very attitude that is killing this great nation. Its all for me and damn the consequences types that got us in this mess.
Let me guess if you saw a man beating a child with a club you wouldn't even call the police because its not your problem? Besides who would re-emburse you for the 911 call?

It's these kinds of attitudes that got us here. It's called greed. And then we wonder why the country (country=people) is welcoming socialism.

As for not having any children, remember that these children will be the working adults who will be taking care of you. Children should be everyone's concern and not just for that reason. They are the future.
