For that to be true, wouldn't you say he'd need to spend more than one of the previous 4 administrations (after adjusting for inflation)?

No, he only needs to keep spending the way that he is now. Just payments to the INTEREST of the national debt is already the third largest expenditure. We only have so many trillions of debt possible before we can't make the "minimum" payment. The Morgans and friends, who own the Federal Reserve, are licking their chops for that day to arrive.

So you would blame Obama, even if Reagan, Bush1, Clinton, Bush2 spent more.

It sounds like you don't have any idea how much Obama has spent.

Over Bush's eight years the average debt increase was 620 billion per year. Obama has spent 954 billion already. That's roughly a 33% increase in insane debt spending. (Wait until we get the largest social entitlement of all time rolling if healthcare reform passes.) And I will grant you that Bush took debt creation to a new level, but he is now looking like a fiscal conservative next to this guy. It doesn't really matter though. I did use the question mark after Obama's name. It was only speculation and only the future will tell us if he will rank as one of the worst or not. But if the debt does increase to the point where we can no longer even pay the interest on it due to his policies, foreign countries will write that he was our last President.

How did you arrive at this number (954 billion)?

I assume you are complaining about the entire stimulus ($787 billion), despite only a portion actually being spent.
(and ignoring the expected GDP increase and job creation)

Where did you get the remaining 167 billion?

Reagan spent more building up the military in his first five years.
Bush2 spent more WAAAY than that, so your comments don't come anywhere near reality.

Take your pick.

I don't get it. Some people in here are ripping Obama, FDR etc for their bearocratic spending frenzies, yet they fail to acknowledge Bush who ran up the highest deficit ever. Come on people. Disliking presidents is like being bi-sexual, you have to go both ways. Even twista has his criticisms of Carter and Clinton.

that's funny since Obama is merely spending the money that was allocated to him under Dubya's budget!
Obama's budget begins on October 1st!

He has a long way to go to catch up with Bush. 2 wars, economy that's damn near depression. I don't recall Obama turning surpluses into record deficits.
