I think we would rank higher on the list if summer was a little longer though.

Germanic you are not.
So now that we unveiled the truth, tell us what's the drink of choice in your non-Germanic countries of Norway and Sweden.
List of countries by alcohol consumption (liter per capita per year)

Czech Republic: 16.45
Ireland: 14.41
France: 13.66
UK: 13.37
Denmark: 13.37
Germany: 12.81
Finland: 12.52
Sweden: 10.30
Netherlands: 10.05
Australia: 10.02
US: 9.44
Norway: 7.81
Iceland: 6.31

The Danes are a beer-loving people. They are famous for Carlsberg and Tuborg. Norway, on the other hand, have not got the same culture. Alcohol is very expensive and not as available. Most Norwegians drink during the weekends. Binge drinking is also quite common.

Most Germanic:

Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands

Medium Germanic:

Scotland, England, Wales, Germany, Austria, Finland

A little Germanic:

Ireland, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Finland, Poland, Estonia

Would you generally agree with my ranking?
Some of those criteria are quite nonsensical. Norse roots or Protestantism don't make you more Germanic. No one would say Austria or Bavaria are not Germanic.

I agree with the religion bit. Germany and Switzerland have both the same share of Protestants and Catholics.

But Bavaria as part of Germany is already on the list.

Speaking of religion, Sweden were catholic until the 16th century.
Does that make us less germanic?

I would amend it to

Most Germanic:

Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland

High Germanic:

West Germany, Netherlands, Belgium

Medium Germanic:

England, East Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France

some Germanic admixture:

Poland, Czech Republic, Scotland, Ireland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Romania, Lithuania

I don't see Finns or the Welsh as very Germanic at all.

Then you could probably break especially northern Italy (which seems to be very Germanic people) and maybe even north-eastern spain. The rest of the baltic states, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, the rest of the balkans basically have little to no German influence (even though German people lived as far east as Russia some time in the past).

EDIT: In reality a place like Czech Republic very heavily reminds me of Germany. Prague for example is basically German architecturally. The people also look Germanic. You can go farther east to Bratislava (Slovakia) and the architecture is more or less the same but the people resemble 'Germanics' less. And the culture starts to change to more eastern europe.

Protestant? What about atheistism?

Importance of religion by country

no way is the uk lower down the drinking table than the usa

americans get drunk on a barmans fart and check themselves into rehab after less than what an irish man drinks on the way to the pub
