Yes its what I meant, I didnt say brits as a majority look like mediterranean peoples of france, spain, etc but they look like their atlantic populations. Belgians for example although being atlantic influenced they look considerably more continental european admixed (more so the flemish than the french speaking ones though), both culturally and also ethnically, the strong dutch and german influences are visible there.
Do you really know well france? MOst brits have only been to southern france for summer holidays.
Most people in northern france (excluding paris) look not any considerably different from your average british men. Go to brittany for example, people look not so much different than crossing the english channel back to dover.

How you can go out and say this and this is an average french person is beyond me.
I would associate people from the British isles with blue eyes not with Brown eyes, in my fathers family not a single person has eyes other than blue.
Brown eyes are southern european.
Right, typical british (and irish for that matter) combination is blue eyes + dark hair + pale skin. Although more than a few welsh and southern english have brown eyes.

Yup there are significant regional differences:
Lighthaired class from lower Normandy
Darkhaired class from Roussillon
Though in my experience the average northern French crowd looks distinctly more southern than its British counterpart.
