I agree - it's one of my frustrations about some areas of this forum.

Almost invariably, when people say "Europe," they mean western Europe. They, inadvertently or subconsciously, or maybe even deliberately, leave out countries and regions that are struggling, whose economies are in chaos, or where racism or class disparity or whatever is more pronounced.

You'd think reading over the threads in this section of the forum that Europeans are sitting around in outdoor cafes drinking wine or coffee and planning their next vacation every day from 2 till 10 pm, and then chopping up a few organic veggies to drink with their sparkling water in their penthouse apartment overlooking the Seine, while Americans put on their hard hats and go to work 80 hours a week in a coal mine just to pay for a big screen TV for their five kids to watch while they all sit in front of it in their McMansion, isolated from the rest of humanity, stuffing burgers in their faces.

Europe is a magical place where people hopping around everywhere like kangaroos, the air is clean and people walk around holding hands, everyone is equal and the food is lovely. You won't find burgers here just veggies and steamed chicken. AWW Europe such a beautiful land

Europe a place where people walk around working 9AM TO 5PM in a dead end job in air that can be called nothing but poor quality with all the bus fumes. Woops I just stepped in bird ****. You won't find any organic shops here well maybe if you happen to be rich which is unlikely I better just go into lidl and buy some food. Woops I just stepped in dog ****.

Couldn't rep you but I believe you!

It's crazy. I honestly think that many people don't have much of a concept of how huge the US is, and how varied "the American experience" is from region to region, and from person to person. Even some Americans don't realize how different life is for others, even just down the street and certainly in another city or set of circumstances.

The generalizations are so over the top so often that it's downright entertaining.

The ones in Russia (which is also "Europe") are round, but bigger and fatter than what you show here. I don't know about the other countries (Poland, Czech, etc.)

Well, hold on to your hat, because there are a LOT more types used throughout Europe - and the outlets throughout Europe aren't necessarily standard either.

Plug & socket types - World Standards

Yep!

I'm actually talking to someone on Skype about how the UK government doesn't care about a large segment of the population. He didn't believe me and said the government gets a bad reputation. I said he needed to travel around the country. Its incredible how different he viewed a country we both live in.

The needed adapters for the iPhone and Apple laptops can be purchased at any Apple store or online. It is called the World Travel Adapter Kit.

One can also find cheaper generic versions of the same adapters on Ebay. There are guys who buy cheap Chinese electronics on Alibaba, and then resell them in the US. If the OP could track down one of those guys on Ebay, he should be in luck.
