Then England wanted to take over the land they had built for ourselves, we fought England in war, beat their ass and won. They left us alone in our massive land (that they only envied and desired for themselves).

This country was FOUNDED by rebels, renegades, non-conformists and outcasts; the fathers of America were the people that Europe DID NOT WANT. They were the ones that didn't agree with how Europe was ran. They were the ones who didn't want to kiss the Queen's behind and wanted to live according to their own rules. They were the ones who sacrificed their lives to make this country. Then others came over to follow suit after they realized what kind of country we built.

YES - technically, the original founders of America were the outcasts that Europe didn't want, the white trash. Now we're more powerful and have a stronger political backing than 80% of them.

Now go wave your flag and scream USA USA. Yawn, what a stupid screed.

Wow, have you ever actually read a history book about WWII and WWI? Obviously not.

Do Europeans generally think of white Americans as "white trash"?
No, of course not.

I guess, at least here in Germany, most people don't know what the term "white trash" means. We normally use terms like "Proleten" or "Asoziale" for such people.

Among those Germans that know the term "white trash", most would probably say that the percentage of "white trash" Americans is bigger than the percentage of "Proleten" in Germany.

Here are some reasons why most Germans probably think that there are more "lower social class" people in the U.S. than in Germany:

Many Americans seem to be dressed in a way that is similar to the way "Proleten" are dressed in Germany. More sweat pants, more loud colours, more fake fingernails.

Americans have a reputation for speaking with a louder voice, that is often seen as a lower class attitude in Germany.

People above 35 eating at a fast food chain (McDonalds, Burger King), is also a little bit weird over here.

A higher obesity rate.

More American houses seem a little bit messy compared to what is usual in Germany. There are also more untended front gardens in the U.S. Most Germans are very upset about untended front gardens in their neighborhood, weed in the crack between the pavement of the sidewalk in front of your hose is also easily seen as lower class. It's also true for people with dirty windows. You can be a wealthy businessman in Germany, but with an untended front garden or dirty windows, you are easily considered as someone from a lower social class.

That all sounds probably very harsh towards America. Something what is completely acceptable in one country is often a completely no-go in other countries. There are surely a lot of typically German behaviours that are completely not acceptable in the U.S. But we are mostly not aware of such misbehaviours. For example most Germans don't shift their sweater or jeans every day. I am not sure, but that is probably seen as lower class in the U.S.?

Cluelessness continues.

Of course there's a 4th of July in England. It's the day after the 3rd of July.
