The city of Loule appears to be a nice small city centrally located in the Alagarve largely off the beaten path. I wonder how good the public transportation is.

Portuguese cuisine has the best of the Mediterranean concentrated in its foods, especially seafood. Awesome things happened with the fusion with south Indian and eastern Brazilian foods, when the Portuguese fondness for seafood and black pepper met with the native cooking methods and spices--think of Brazil's famous fish stew vatapa -- it's what cioppino wishes it could be!-- or Goa-style curries, where peppers inflame vindaloo with layers of heat.
