In January, Poland's Prime Minister said that Poland had accepted close to a million refugees from the war in Ukraine, but the Ukrainian ambassador denied that and said that those Ukrainians in Poland were mostly economic migrants.

Ukrainian ambassador rejects Polish premier's 'million refugees' claim | Reuters

So if few Ukrainians have gone to Poland to escape the war, where have they gone? To Russia, other nations, or to other parts of Ukraine?

According to this article, Ukrainian war created over 2 million refugees.

Ukraine crisis has created more than 2 million refugees, UN reports | euronews, world news

According to Russia, they took over a million refugees. That doesn't include solely people from the Eastern part of the country, but a lot of conscripts ( women including) that don't want to participate in so-called "Anti-terrorist operation" and to be sent to the "Eastern front." And that includes people from central and western parts of Ukraine.
I would guess that these are not Eastern Ukrainians that are running to Poland, but mostly from western/central provinces.
What surprises me, is that they claim the "refuge" status.
But I don't exclude such possibility, since a lot of them know that the country is run in reality by the paramilitary ultra-right units. While these people are not fans of Putin's Russia, they are aware of what's going on on their streets and who is really in charge. ( In fact the latest Moreira's film reflected on it pretty well.)
But of course the Ukrainian government in Kiev is in denial and call those who are leaving the country for Poland strictly "economic migrants." Which is partially true as well, because Ukraine's economy is suffering big time, and SOME people are leaving precisely for this reason.

P.S. Part of Ukrainians (according to the mentioned above article) left for Belorussia.

P.S. P.S. Here is yet another article on a subject if you care to read.

The Ukrainians starting a new life
I've read it. Some refugees want to stay in Russia, but others want to return to Ukraine.

Yes. That's the reason many of them preferred to settle in the near-by regions of Southern Russia I assume. ( Because otherwise they would have moved elsewhere, where it would have been much easier to find jobs, housing and so on.)

Apperantly they go to use Granade Launchers in a peaceful country...just 50 meters away from the place I used to live in for years:

4 Ukrainians carried out grenade launcher attack at Bulgaria

Those Klitchkovians though, always bringing trouble....

Most went to other parts of Ukraine. Most don't qualify as refugees, so they cannot get asylum in Western Europe.

This is the marauding Ukrainian Army, the occupational force pillaging the Eastern part of the country.
This should give you an idea of their attitude towards the inhabitants of that area.
You still think that "most went to other parts of Ukraine?"

How do you imagine that? Freight wagons and go to the Kolyma? They must decide themselves, where they want to live.

If we consider three refugees from the war in the eastern Ukraine then one of them escaped to Russia and two others escaped to central and western parts of the Ukraine. As the rule the refugees prefer big cities Kiev especially. This caused some growth of rental homes' prices in many Ukrainian cities.

Besides there is significant economic migration of Ukrainians to Poland, Germany etc. Young people choose this variant in the main.

But we have to remember that a few millions of the Poles have migrated to USA, Canada, England, Germany from 1980s to now. They freed many work positions.
