If you read Italian, put into a search engine "prezzi metro quadrato città italiane" and you'll find links to the major Italian national real estate firms - I believe there are three or four of them - whose websites will contain all of the information you requested.

Good Luck!

Real estate prices in Europe generally, are much higher than the US. More people squeezed into a smaller area, will do it.

I live in the Wash DC burbs, 20 minutes from the White House, and would struggle to get $200 per sq ft for my SF on half an acre. The average for the entire US is less than $100 per sqtf. I just sold an 1,800 sf duplex in Dublin for $430 per sq ft.

This interactive map of prices by zip in London might give you heart failure. All the dark blues have average/median above $1,000 per sq ft. Almost $2,000 in one case. Hold your cursor........

Yeah i know about London.

They are literally using real estate to launder money.

NYC is the same as well.

But i never thought Italy would be very expensive too

Everyone was complaining about the economy and look at these prices.

No kidding man.

Absolutely not.

Even italians probably can't afford these homes.

And weird thing is current prices are lower than say couple of years ago.

Do the math.

Washington DC has very high violent crime rates, lots of poverty, and urban decay, you can't compare it to Western European cities. You just get what you pay for. If you look at the half way livable, more European like cities in the US like SF, NYC, Seattle or Boston, they are much, much more expensive than Western Europe overall.

I know unfortunately, I'm Italian
One point in favour is that Italians overall are great savers.

DC is more expensive than Seattle most certainly, and about on par with Boston if not a bit more expensive.
