Basically it's about people who can not afford insurance health policies and then have to pay high bills. The cases are mostly about people who traveled to China and had to be forcely checked by hospitals when they returned to the States, with costs varying between 1,000 and 4,000 dollars.
Gofundme bait.

Thank you.

"A Miami, un uomo che è stato testato dopo un viaggio di lavoro in Cina, secondo quanto riferito a MarketWatch, si è ritrovato a dover pagare un conto di 3.270 di spese ospedaliere."

I think this is the case I was referring to earlier, but he asked for the test himself, the part I was wondering about however was where people were FORCED to take it. ( Like they would be, say, arriving now from Italian flights somewhere in Sheremetievo, Moscow.)

But I see now what happened here - THIS explains it.

"Another Pennsylvania man created the GoFundMe page on the Internet
to ask for help to pay $ 3,918 in bills which he was surprised to receive
after being evacuated from China and quarantined with his three-year-old daughter."

So this person was EVACUATED from China, and while in the (forced) quaranteen, he was tested as a part of a "MUST procedure."
And apparently, he was seriously underinsured, or didn't have health insurance at all (which is unlikely.)

But let's look into the next case;

Tyler Prochazka, a 27-year-old teacher who went to Shanghai in mid-January,
was tested in a Kansas hospital for coronavirus and other ailments and received
a $ 983 bill a few weeks later.

"My first reaction was disbelief," said Prochazka,
explaining that in his case, the nurse who had taken the swab from his nose
had assured him that the sample would be sent to the CoC,
the Center for Prevention and disease control (the body that in the US has
the task of preventing and suggesting the most appropriate interventions in
the event of widespread contagion and epidemics), which would have covered the
costs of the test. This did not happen, however, explains Prochazka."

Now this is American Healthcare mafia at work - a classic example of it, even when person in question IS insured.

And all this explains I think ( partially at least) - this state of American Health care industry, - why Trump ( and the rest of his team) assessed the situation quietly, and decided to do nothing about the nearing danger, saying that "Dzin-Pin ( or whatever his name is) "told me that virus is going to be gone by April."
(Well this, and the fact that US is a major international hub - places like New York and L.A.-San. Francisco in particular.)
So what can you do under the circumstances, but to watch the train wreck coming in a slow mo?

Also, if you look at the last column on the right, you can see that my country has a high number of cases per 1000 inhabitants. That's not good.

No I don't Anhity.

As I've said - first locust, and now - this)))

( Or was it the other way around?)

What's meant to happen, will happen anyways, just have enough of toilet paper under any circumstances)))

I think the topic should be renamed "Coronavirus in Europe", not just in Italy. It's a complete disaster in almost every single European country.

Yeah, it exploded this week. I live in Norway and the government will close all airports and harbours for international travel on Monday. My country is highly affected due to the large number of skiers vacationing in the Alps. So far 1,077 have been infected and three (old citizens) have died.

I read that in the US some people had to be forcely tested for the virus and then had to pay like 4,000 dollars. In that case, yeah, I'd rather stay here.
NOTHING is free. Italians are paying taxes for it.

I'm in Venice....Florida, and have not heard of anyone being forced to take the test. I also heard the test is "free", and in extreme short supply right now.

That supply shortage is just now being addressed and drive through testing stations will be opened in WalMart store parking lots.

"Free" means they are not charging you directly for a good or service at the time you consume it. Taxpayers will however eventually pay for it, or it will be added to the debt.

FREE means that when you are going to a doctor, you don't have to talk first about "what's covered and what's not," you don't have to reach for your pocket right on a spot, and you won't anxiously wait for a bill after you are done with the visit.

"Taxes" is what you pay your government anyway, be that US or Europe.

Now what the government ( and society in general) decides to do with those taxes, what priorities it sets, is a whole different story.

P.S. My guess is, that at this point the testing for CV in US becomes *free* ( whatever YOU mean by that,) only after the government realized that it aint "going away by April."
Far away from it.

This is not going to end before June, they made a lot of mistakes and now the virus has spread a lot.

It's ridiculous how Europe went from hero to zero in like 5 seconds and the richest countries like Switzerland are amongst the most ****ed.
