I don't think there's anything wrong with it, but it is an interesting aspect of human nature that we feel the need for other people to know that we are something in order for us to feel like something.
I'm a pretty serious mountain biker, and I've thought about putting a "RockShox" sticker on my truck before (it's a brand of suspension that I use). I've never done it, mostly because I found myself thinking "Why would I do such a thing? Why should I care if other people on the road know that the driver of this random black truck in front of them likes mountain biking?" The whole thing seemed kinda silly to me.

I think they should all be beaten, then infested with fleas onto their crotch and have their hands shacked to a wall so they can’t scratch, then beaten again, then stoned to death, then taken to be tortured until they admit that ironman stickers are about vanity and are idiotic.
