What home scale are you using? I'm in the process of switching gyms and found out the scale at my new gym is broken. It's digital and always says .2 before you step on. So I'm going to buy my own. I'd prefer non digital but they all break at some point so maybe if the quality is good enough I'll consider digital.
I have a Fitbit Aria and a Withings Smart Body Analyzer- I find both to be really inaccurate. I'm going old school and ordering me a physicians balance beam scale. I could really care less about the digital wifi, body fat and BMI functions on these crappy scales..
If you're working on getting toned, I'd say skip the scale and go by a tape measure and how your clothes fit. I lost more than an inch all over and gained five pounds over a year's time.

Excellent point. A simultaneous loss in fat and muscle gain will not necessarily be reflected on the scale.

I have to keep telling myself that!
