I agree. It seems easier for short guys to pack on visible muscle in a short amount of time. Getting visible results = motivation.

This is probably accurate, but no popular to say. I would agree with this.

What are you talking about? I am doing just fine.

Interesting. I wonder if tall men simply don't feel the need to get buff for this reason. Honestly I hate it how so few people in the gym actually care about their health and only want to look good. I bet 90% of men who work out don't actually eat healthy food in addition to going to the gym.

This is it. It's easier for them to build larger muscles because the range of motion of the exercise is shorter, so they can lift more proportionally. If you are a 5'6" male with proportional length arms and have a barrel chest from lifting weights, when you bench press the distance you need to lift the weights can be as much as 6-9" less than a 6'3" person with longer arms. This makes it easier to lift heavier weights and build larger muscles.

I would like to think that Napoleon complex has little to do with it.

Shorter guys are smaller so it's easier to add a few pounds of muscle and suddenly change their appearance than someone bigger who already has bigger bones and more flesh. It takes longer for a big guy to increase muscular density. A big guy has to consume a lot more calories and work harder for muscles to build bigger.

I have been lifting weights for over 20 years and I haven't noticed this.

Another thread the OP started was the one saying that most guys who lift and are very muscular are also fat. Maybe there's a correlation. Those "short" guys aren't really short. They just look short because they're so fat. It's an optical illusion!
