Hi Lola! Stepped into the men's locker room, I see........How's the view?????
Yeah!!! Lola needs to get back into the kitchen with her swiffer sweeper in one hand and her Dyson vacum in the other and stay out of mens' conversations. We dont burst into her chat threads about "whats better Palmolive or Dawn?", "Needlepoint, Crochet and Macrame", or "Those little wings, they really protect".
Just kidding Lola. You know we all love you. And I know, you know more than me, so dont hurt me.
On my first ship in the Navy I was doing three different types of push-ups 25 times each twice a day along with other body weight exercises. Guy at the weight room challenged me to bench. At the time I weighed 150 lbs. I benched 200 lbs 10 reps and walked away. Can't bench anymore due to shoulder injury. Still do some push-ups but have to be careful how I place my hands.
I'm 62 yrs old, 5'8", 138 lbs and I can still lift a few beers and pin the old lady.
On Friday night I am at my stongest cause Saturday is bath day. If it rains.
Sandpointian....Carrying children around does not qualify you as a wimp!
LOL! Thanks. I would like to think so....although when it comes time to lifting certain things or doing sport in the brief moments I seem to have for myself, I almost feel I am in an alien body. I have so much less strength and stamina, although for some reason stronger biceps! LOL!
Its interesting information you have sharing here. How much your body strong is not issue but how much your body fight with different atmosphere and virus and bacteria. We have to take care about our internal body part.
I'm a wimp these days. I haven't maxed out in quite a while. I normally end my bench routines doing a few triples. Going by that, I'd say I'm good for about 240 at a body weight of 160 pounds.
Back before hellish shoulder pain started to kick in, I was in the 360-370 range at 235-240 pounds.
Once the pain kicked in and I couldn't lift the way I used to, I decided it was time to change my goals. Nowadays, I lift and exercise mainly for health reasons.

First of all.....killer. I don't do dishes....second of all.....I do know more than you and third of all.......this is MY forum!
I don't really associate bench press with overall body strenght. All too often people are judged on their bench, it's like the universal question that people ask and it's usually someone who does not work out asking.
Now deadlifts, Rackpulls, Squats different story there.
