You say you were told your new size is 32DD....how was your 34C fitting? Why not do a 34D? or some other size that's close to it.
I've found that (depending on the body part shape, or course) you can tweak the sizing a bit ....moving the number up or down...and then the cup size up or down.....if you move he number up move the cup size down and vice-versa.
Also clearly the back strap has various hooked to adjust length...so if you move the number up, just hook it on the smallest hook.
PS I'm still stuck on the 24J...24 is the width around the body, right...who is that skinny and yet a J cup? Interesting.

Your advice is the advice sales associates at places like Victorias Secret are instructed to give so they can sell more bras. A 32DD may be the same volume as 34D or 36C but that doesn't mean those sizes FIT.
The reason bras have multiple hooks is because bras stretch with wear. If you buy a bra that fits only on the tightest hook, in 6 months the bra will be useless. When you buy a bra it should be well fitted or even a touch too tight on the LOOSEST hook.
Cup size is relative to band size. A person who measures 24" around their ribcage isn't necessarily skinny, they just have a small ribcage and breast size is not determined by how much fat you have but by how much breast tissue you have. That's why thin women can have large breasts and fat women can have small breasts. A 24J would be roughly the same size breasts as a 36D. Certainly large but not cartoonish.

I'm actually not a 32DD. got remeasured. I'm a 30DDD. And ya, what Unexpected Error said is right. The sales girls at VS admitted "ya, you're not a 32DD but you can try a 32D, taht should fit!". I went "ah, no thanks. I want a bra that fits. too bad you don't carry my size" lol. the 34C fit ok if I adjusted the straps right and I wore it on the tightest hook but those loosened up real quick and then didn't fit anymore but I always thought I was wearing the right size. Dillards had another brand besides Wacoal that had my size but the cups were made all weird and it just didn't look right. Wacoal was perfect and way more attractive, and actually a little cheaper than the other brand (can't remember the name).
Men are so lucky! their clothes are cheap!
