Not in small companies or companies with blabber mouth HR people.

I did, however, work for a very large home improvement chain and found out about how much less I was getting paid after I was let go by a former manager. I was shocked.

At the company where the girl got promoted over me because of her looks, I was told straight up. People would also brag about their raises and paychecks/stubs were left on tables and whatnot. It was a very laid back company.

The good news is that one can overcome, and nursing is an awesome, go anywhere career with many, many different avenues available.

The OP is right on schedule age-wise to deal with whatever is eating her. I started my journal of healing in my 30's too.

Can you explain your theory? I find this interesting because I just don't understand it.

Nursing does seem like a great career where one can make a good salary and work 3 or 4 shifts a week at times.

There have been studies that prove beautiful people get treated better and make more money.
Also, plenty of people with Bachelor's Degrees who can't find employment.

What do you think?

Maybe I should have posted this in the non romantic relationships forum?
Or the Finanacial section under personal?
If possible, get both? Try asking your parents to fund your studies if they haven't already done so.

I know many people are gonna bash me for saying this but good-looking women can get connections to good/prestigious jobs without too much difficulty; they just generally have it easier.

Think of it this way:

It never hurts to look gorgeous and elegant. And if you can back that up with just a teeny weeny bit of knowledge and wisdom, you're good to go.

It takes more than that to go from ugly to attractive enough to cruise through life. Like those women from that show the Swan, none of those women looked effortlessly beautiful afterward, they just looked like women who had had a lot of cosmetic procedures. Sure, you can get a nose job or some minor botox without anyone realizing, but when you start nipping and tucking and adding implants that are too big for your body, people will know and it's not cute.

I agree that it's very difficult to go from extremely unattractive to attractive with cosmetic surgery. But it's definitely possible to go from mildly attractive to gorgeous. But just like with makeup, it's not the actual quantity of procedures, it's the nature of those procedures that will make you look overdone or "surgeried".

I know girls who have gotten their entire body done in Brazil and guaranteed you would never know.

why would anyone need to get their entire body done? Sounds sick to me. Everything besides breasts can be perfected at the gym

Even breasts can be toned up and perky by working out pec muscles. Big breasts doesn't =beautiful

Eh, not necessarily. I had a six pack (it was more of a 4pack ) when I was in my early 20s (I was also quite thin) and even at my thinnest I still had a belly pooch and 'muffin top'. It's just the way my body is. Even my Mom suggested liposuction because she had the same thing. No matter how much I weigh, and how much I exercise I'll never have a flat stomach.

Just because it's not your personal cup of tea doesn't mean it's "sick", it's neither harmful nor illegal. I don't know why people think it's cute to be that judgmental. One of the girls that I know had a full body lift, plus lipo, plus breast implants lost 70 lbs. She looks great, you could never tell and she has a perfect hour glass figure.

People don't get implants just to have big breasts. I had big breasts already. I like the roundness and upper pole fullness you can only get from an implant. If I had no implant, I would prefer to have tiny breasts. God didn't give me tiny breasts.
