Hate to tell y'all, but just because something is your opinion doesn't preclude you from being ignorant or closed-minded.
It's bizarre, really, that everyone seems totally one with saying wearing a certain color makes a man seem gay or unmanly, but if you said a woman in a pair of pants looked like a lezzy or unfeminine, they would have multiple protestors.
Coming from the one who is having a hard time digesting others OPINIONS. I bet you're wearing colored pants right now.
I do hope you get to chance to do so wherever you live, how embarrassing it will be to face your people knowing you got punked by a guy in colored pants.

Yes. I sure would. You said you'd love it if someone did.
To face my people? My fellow white folk? whatever that means.
Ps, no one says punked anymore. But cool guys in bright pants.
No we hear ourselves loud and clear. There's a difference between ignorance and having an opinion and MY opinion is Pepto Bismol pink pants, even salmon colored pants are not manly and most men wouldn't dare wear colored pants. The reality of stereotypes is gay men, emo/indie/hipster men wear colored pants more than the meat heat, redneck, jock type.
It would be rude if we were calling someone who was actually wearing pants "gay" or "unmanly" but we arent.

Yeah, that doesn't really counter the ignorance...we all know that being a man is about the person, not the clothes, but we are also all aware that social norms do exist and extreme deviations from the norms of fashion imply a deviation from other social norms. I understand, it's okay. But when the only difference is the color of your pants, not even the style or fabric or pattern, but a simple change in color is interpreted as a difference in personality, well, that's not just an opinion. Heck, that's just plain idiotic.
If a man can't rock a pair of men's pants in a color other than khaki or jean, then I guess he's not much of a man, is he?
I think color pants depends on the man wearing them. A big Bubba dude would look crazy wearing pink pants. I would not assume a dude is gay or straight based on his pants.
What are your thoughts on men wearing colored pants (cotton chinos, wool trousers, etc)?
I have a pair of chambry blue wool trousers and one pair of french blue chinos, and like the look of blue. However, I couldn't do red, green, or other colors which are just harder to pull off.

No. Ugly. I don't even like bright pants on women.
Really rich preppy men from the North Shore of Long Island, the Hamptons, Connecticut and similar spots were these outrageously bright trousers in lime green, peach, and other odd colors. If you check out the villiage of Locust Valley on a Spring day you will get an eyeful.
Sometimes they have a splashy print that is really wild. In Palm Beach you may see these and Lily Pulitzer makes them.
There are other trousers worn by these men that have a repeated motif such as a mallard duck, a sailboat. or a golden retriever. These men are mostly very conservative and love these loud slacks.

I see more options for men in terms of colours and I welcome it. Why should men be pressured into wearing blue jeans, or black or beige? I have a pair of teal pants which I think are pretty rad, I dig the psychedelic connotations.
