Because I'm in a new city and know next to no one, my Halloween was family friendly and had an early bed time. Even so, I'm happy with my costume and the reactions I got. I don't know how many people actually knew who I was, but I heard several people appreciate the cute pup hanging from my shorts.
Other than my pigtails and copious amounts of blush and mascara, this is all you need to see to get the gist of my costume.

Well, I pulled out my old Pirate Wench costume - but I threw on a Louis IVX (isn't that how you type that?) style velvet jacket with fabulous cuffs, and some awesome over-the-knee boots so that I looked like an exceptionally badass wench. A powerful wench in fact.
I took my grandkids trick or treating on base while their mom and dad gave out candy at home. They were: Little Red Riding Hood, another pirate wench, a scarecrow, and a Scaredy Cat.
I tried to download my photos but something's up with my camera! I'm sort of freaking out about this - but I'm sure it's user error...

This is as far as I got with my costume...trying on the two different masks:
My husband ended up getting caught in 1 hour plus traffic on the way home from the airport and being it was almost 7pm, we decided to skip the party and take the kids for some pizza instead (their Daddy had been in Asia for the past two weeks.)
As for Halloween day itself...being that our neighborhood is trashed and powerless thanks to "Sandy," we took the kids trick-or-treating, but nixed the costumes for ourselves. Heck, most kids didn't even bother with costumes.
