Once I have a kid, I'd like the name Jacqueline or Joseph.

I'd also consider (girl): Nicole, Nicolette, Marisa, Vanessa, Natasha, Kyla, Erin, Noelle, Francis, and Alexandria.
I'd also consider (boy): Jace, Gavin, Derek, Julian, Nolan, Parker, Brady, Travis and Ashton.

If I were a celebrity, I'd probably use these names:
(boy) Deuce, Hayes, Diesel, Zane, or Cairo
(girl) Aliana, Harper, Phoebe, or Georgia

To me, my 3 sons have the best names in the world

Omar
Cezzre
DeLeyon

They were chosen and have meaning to our family.

I hate trendy names of the year, or naming a child after a television character.

OMG I fought "nicknames" my entire childhood and even into adulthood.

I may as well go ahead on this thread and tell you that my real name is not Kathryn. It's Melanie. All my life I've had to fight people off tooth and nail by insisting that my name is NOT "Mel." NO. Not Mel, or Melly. It's MELANIE. I don't want it shortened. I am not a Mel. I don't need some diminuative name. I don't need a midget name. Call me Melanie. Please.

They don't necessarily have to go by a nickname, but it gives people more options in case they don't want to go by their full name. I usually go by my full first name, but I don't care if people shorten it.

I heard on the news this week that Shoshanna is becoming a popular name. Although I can only think of one Shoshanna, Jerry Seinfield's chesty ex. I always thought her name was pretty.
