These are multipurpose and useful.

I like my Merrell hikers too, they look good with t-shirts or polo shirt. For a button up shirt tucked in, I prefer some dress boots like in the last pic.

I have a pair of Bearpaws which are pretty much the same which have been summer yard boots for a couple of years. Sadly they have finally literally started to fall apart but in summer they are no warmer than any protective shoe and it has to be a pretty good crawler to get you.

A good pair of boots looks good any time. Only thing to wear with jeans.

If it's a good pair of jeans, almost any reasonable type of shoe will look good. It's really a matter of the look you're going for.

Not in my book.
I personally prefer the latter (I wonder what shoes those are), but both look good. Chuck Taylors and Vans though? Nasty.

It's funny that you say both look good, but that Chucks are nasty when the first pic is a pair of Chuck Taylors.

^That is funny. But when I said Chuck Taylors I was thinking of what I assume are the classic "Chuck Taylors". I didn't realize those pictured are Chuck Taylors or that they even made shoes like that, but I've seen lots of sneakers that look like that from a variety of brands.

The boots look WAY better than the tennis shoes.

I guess I have no idea what you are talking about then. If you could post a pic, that'd be helpful since classic Chuck Taylors are canvas high tops made by Converse.

^The white shoes that were posted look like generic white sneakers that come from a variety of brands and in both canvas and leather. They aren't distinct. To me, "Chuck Taylors" brings to in distinct pair of shoes.

These are an example of what I think of when I think of "Chuck Taylors" (even the name rubs me the wrong way):

yes, I am saying that.

Of course it is a matter of taste, but I'm not into the boots and jeans look, unless they are cowboy boots and the person wearing them is a cowboy.
