First off, since my username does seem to confuse some people, I'll start off by saying that I am a woman. A proud, bra-wearing woman.
I know a lot of women who wear the same bra for days without washing it. They seem to think that a bra does not need to be washed as often as other clothing.
I have to disagree. Your bra band isn't too far from your pits, after all. Plus...boob sweat?
I won't say that I never wear a bra two days in a row without washing, but that's pretty much it, and that's only if I didn't get sweaty in it the first day. Or I might wear a strapless bra a couple of times between washes, since I usually only wear one with certain dresses and for certain occasions/events that last for a few hours...
Overall, though...I think some women -- including good friends of mine who otherwise have immaculate hygiene and very clean homes -- don't wash their bras quite enough, based on what they tell me.
Thoughts?
Since the only reason you know their laundering habits is because they tell you, then presumably they don't walk around looking dirty or smelling of B.O.
If they didn't tell you, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between those who wash their bras daily or less frequently.

Great response!!!
Just because someone doesn't do something the exact way another THINKS they should doesn't mean they are doing anything necessarily wrong.
If it's not offensive odor wise and you aren't in a romantic relationship with them (I assume) why care?
I think people these days are a bit obsessive about cleanliness to the point where it's not just being clean, but being nearly sterilized and anointed with various creams and tinctures.
I also think this thread demonstrates a gulf between how people of different "classes" view things. Splurge on quality bras so they don't wear out fast in the washer? Just throw stuff in the washer every day? I find it curious that someone simply wouldn't realize that some women need to spend money on bills or food rather than a dozen fancy bras or go to the laundromat instead of using her at-home washer.
Personally, I think having 3-4 bras and handwashing each one when you take it off for the day isn't that challenging. But I also don't think that most people start sweating and stinking after 1 day at the office or wherever.

Reason: cutoff
Maybe you should care about personal hygiene and cleanliness.
I have a dozen or so bras (none of them cheap, because cheap bras are ill fitting) and I just rotate through them and throw mine into a garment bag when I do laundry.
I doubt most women are walking around wearing stinky, nasty bras if they're otherwise fresh-smelling, clean individuals.
Perhaps you're just overthinking this?

Frankly I've never spent any time wondering about how frequently other women launder their undergarments.

I'm with you there ladies. Honestly, I've never given this much thought at all. Count me in as someone who does not wash my bras every time I wear them. And I confidently wear outer clothing (e.g., pants, sweaters) many times between washings. If a piece of clothing is visibly dirty or odoriferous, into the machine it goes. Otherwise, I wear it again...and again...and again. One thing to note, though, is that I remove my day clothing as soon as I'm in for the night and hang it up to air out. Maybe that makes a difference.
I don't wear bras I hate them, they obstruct lymphatic flow I just wear a sort of bandeau without the underwire, but sometimes I don't even bother I'm very tribal.hehe

I'm 57 years old. I have never once had a conversation with any of my female friends about how often we wash our bras.

You should say this to your "friends" the next time they tell you how often they wash their bras. I suspect this will never happen.
Some women are stinkier and sweat more than others; therefore they wash (or don't) their brassieres accordingly.
