I had that done by a dermatologist, about a dozen of them. They healed up fine, stayed pink for a while, but you can't even see where they were now.

I've had mixed results with this procedure---done by a reputable board-certified dermatologist. Some worked just fine, but two on my forearms resulted in unsightly pink/white patches that never returned to normal....after years. I wish I'd never done it. They look way worse than the original sun-scabs.

You could put some makeup on the spots to cover them up - If you just can't stand how you look. My uncle does that with a large birthmark on his forehead. It's purple. Until he did that people would stare.

Anyway, have you called the office back to see if your reaction is normal? I'll also add that as you age it takes your body longer to heal. The face especially takes longer -

I wouldn't put makeup on anything that hasn't even scabbed yet. (And to be honest, makeup wouldn't apply properly until after the scabs have formed and fallen off, and you're left with smooth skin. Applying makeup to rough textured skin will only draw more attention to it.

This was my experience as well. I've never had brown spots removed, just pre-cancerous things. But they've always formed scabs that fell off in the time-frame predicted by the doctor.

Yes, you need more time to heal. In the meantime you might want to drop by the doctor's office just to make sure that your scabs look normal.

When diabetics or people with a suppressed immune system have an open wound, it sometimes takes longer to heal.
Could you possibly be diabetic? Or have another health-related issue that would delay your healing time?

Idiot doctor. They aren't suppose to spray that crap on your face. There is an over spray that occurs and you'll get scars.
See Salt and Sands post.

They should be taking a q tip and dabbing it inside the area so that it only is effected.

The same doctor went from telling you you'd be healed within 17 days to saying you'd be healed in 1 year? That's quite a jump.

I think he said a year so that she will heal in a few weeks and not complain constantly until it is healed... bottom-line, it's going to heal... unless she develops a keloid... as for people piping on lawsuit, delayed healing is not a reason for a lawsuit...
