I went to a doctor to have my skin checked for skin cancer. He said I was OK.
But in the inspection of my skin he noticed a few brown spots on my face. They were slightly unsightly so I said yes, go ahead and get rid of them. Within a few minutes he was spraying liquid nitrogen on eight different spots on my face. He promised it would not cause any problems or leave me with any scars and my brown spots would be replaced with new skin. My brown spots would be gone!
So after the painful procedure I went home and looked at my face in the mirror. I had huge red blisters all over my face. I called the doctor and he said within a week the blisters would turn into scabs and within another ten days the scabs would fall off and show slightly pink skin. Then the pink skin would be replaced with great looking skin in a week or so.
A month has passed and my blisters are as red as ever and no scabs have formed. I look just terrible. My self confidence is gone and people are always asking me what has happened to me. Now my skin doctor says I may heal within a year. My self confidence was based on my looks to a degree and now I do everything I can to avoid the public and have cancelled all social activities. When I do go out in public people look at me strange or look at me briefly and then have a funny look.
What a nightmare.
Anyone hear have their age or dark spots frozen and want to tell me how they healed, if at all?
He should have explained to you in advance that you'd get an unsightly reaction for WEEKS, and would have to live with it, until the "treatment" ran its course. Consider reporting the guy to his licensing board. How much were you charged for this disaster?

I paid $200.00.
He said it would be slightly red for a few weeks at most. I keep looking for the scab to form but now almost five weeks from the event there has been no change in my moist super red blisters.
Was this doctor a dermatologist? I've heard advice that for things like mole removal, a cosmetic surgeon would be more instructive on how to prioritize healing quickly and without scarring.
And what kind of treatment are you using on the sores? Are you following instructions, using the proper skincare, etc?

I had this done on my back, plus a large one I had on my cheek that had grown large and dark over several decades. The bad one on my face did look awful for awhile and I got a bit alarmed, but it did scab finally and peel off. Maybe you just need more time.

When I asked my aesthetician about laser resurfacing, she recommended having a cosmetic surgeon perform the procedure. I agree, the OP needs to consult with a cosmetic surgeon.
I've had liquid nitrogen treatments but I'd never mess with an area as prominent as my face. Was your doctor board certified?
