I haven't shopped too much this fall; I was sick for several weeks. But in the two visits I made to brick and mortar retailers, I really found some good deals. I bought some things at the Lands End Sears store, after taking in a return. When you take in a return, you get a discount if you buy something that day from them. I also got a 40% discount because of an ongoing sale, so I feel like the three items I bought were good deals.

Yesterday, DH found the normal good deals at Eddie Bauer at our nearby outlet mall, but I found an extremely good deal at the neighboring Pendleton outlet store. I bought a great raincoat for roughly half price. It had all the features I was looking for, it fit great, and I like how it looks on me.

I also found a great deal at Bed, Bath and Beyond, FYI.

I think if you need clothes now, you should go look for some and see if you can find great deals. I don't remember stumbling into two great deals before, like I did, within weeks of each other.

I suspect the deals will not be as good in January. This must be a holiday push by stores to get sales this year.

Happy clothes shopping.

Chico's had 40% off clothing this weekend. I'm retiring so I resisted.

Here is a deal on the new Spring 2018 IZOD Advantage Polo, one of the best polo shirts for the price:

Since these are the new Spring 2018 colors, this is a very good price for a newly released product.

I enjoy Pink Jazz's posts. He knows what he likes.

IZOD does have a Fall line of polo shirts, typically in darker or more neutral colors than the Spring line. One of my Fall Advantage Polos is a dark brownish purple color known as Fig.

I recently went to JC Penney and they were having a 60% off sale for their brands. I got a coat, a Jean jacket, two pairs of jeans, two blouses, a sweater and a pair of boots for around $250.00.

Lots of stuff on sale. To bad almost of all of it is horribly ugly. What is with al of the randomly placed ruffles and giant bell sleeves. And then jeans with the weird asymmetrical distressed hem.

What happened to basic shapes?

Due to a down turn in our finances a number of years ago I ended up having to shop at thrift stores, ie:goodwill and a few others for clothing. At first I hated it but it was necessary. I have to say once I got used to it it was kind of enjoyable. I ended up with some of my more favorite clothes from there. A larger variety to choose from. Purchased some shirts I would normally not consider at a department store because "at first glance" not my style. I was even given a $150 gift card for Macy's when I needed to buy a dress to attend a wedding and couldn't find anything I liked. I ended up going to a thrift store and found something I really liked for under $20. It seemed so well made I looked up the name on Google and was some high priced designer only sold at high end boutiques.

I know everybody likes a bargain but thrift stores? would have never imagined myself shopping for clothes in one before. Some are better than others. Anyone else have better luck with thrift stores over department stores.

I guess I have caviar taste on a kraft mac and cheese budget.
