I could be in the best shape of my life and I wouldn't wear one of those type of tank tops. Something about them is just gross.

I never heard the term "wife beater" in reference to shirts began until the last 15 or so years.

I feel the same way. To me they serve absolutely no purpose. Whereas a regular t-shirt does make sense.

It’s the coolest top for a guy to wear in hot weather, other than shirtless.
Heck yes, lots of men in Hawaii wear them, including me.

Not many males can pull off the 'wifebeater' without looking like a dirtbag.

I don't like the way they look and fail to see the purpose. Regular T-shirts absorb sweat from the underarms, these HAVE no underarms. I disagree that they are the same as tank tops, which usually have more coverage, although there is some overlap.

Yes, I have them and wear them. BUT, nobody ever sees them. I do not put my underwear on display. I always have a shirt on over them.

I guess to absorb torso sweat or to make nipple protrusion less noticeable? And yes, men can get NP if it's cold.
