I'm female, in my 60's and my current deodorant isn't cutting it. I don't have Hyperhidrosis, (as in I don't perspire a LOT) so I don't think I need an antiperspirant?

I don't perspire all the time, it happens mostly when I'm anxious. I think this is called a nervous sweat?

I shower daily and apply my deodorant afterwards. Further on in the day I know I have BO.

Help! Do any of you have some suggestions for deodorants that will last longer than a couple of hours?

You likely do need an antiperspirant. This works by blocking your sweat glands. A deodorant just covers up the smell. Im a 48 year old female been wearing an antiperspirant deodorant since I was about 11!

You sound like me! What I used to wear just doesn't cut it anymore either. I don't really perspire a lot either but nothing works for the odor after a few hours.

Looking forward to hearing suggestions to your post. BTW, the clinical antiper./deodorants did work for a while but after a yr. or two stopped. I've also tried alternating diff. brands (I build up a tolerance quickly to meds. so thought it might be the case here as well).

I switched to Arrid XXtra dry spray antiperspirant deodorant a few years back because that was the only thing that worked for me.

I use Ban Roll On
https://www.feelbanfresh.com/roll-ons/purely-gentle/
The active ingredient is aluminum chlorohydrate 18%
Most other deodorants use: aluminum zirconium tetrachlorohydrex gly 19% (this is what Ban solid uses).
For some reason, that doesn't seem to work on me as well as the aluminum chlorohydrate. And only a few deodorants use this anymore.

What has driven me bonkers in finding just the right antiperspirant/deodorant product, is that I need all of these things to align:

- It can stop the floods of sweat and the funk even when I'm in a certain hormonal phase of the month (the only time it's really a problem.)
- It does not smell bothersome on its own. I don't like overpowering product smells.
- It doesn't irritate my skin.
- It doesn't stain my clothing (a HUGE struggle, as I wear a lot of black t-shirts.)

At this point, I don't even care what it costs, I've gotten that desperate. Finally the best product I have found after trying a number of them, including some of the expensive ones, some of the "natural" ones, etc. just...a variety... What I've settled on is Dove Clinical Strength. It's more costly, but it seems to do the job.

I use Mitchum unscented clear gel, which reduces sweat, controls odor, does not leave white stains on your clothing, and smells like NOTHING at all. It doesn't sound ladylike, but it does work. And things do change sometimes. I didn't used to use this, but now I do.

Also, you can get deodorant and anti-perspirant separately or together, something it took me a while to realize.

I like the gel Lady Speedstick but getting almost impossible to find , so I get the LS solid instead. It’s also antiperspirant and no residue on clothes.
