All my life (& same for finace'), I'd get what I like on sale &/or what's reasonably priced. I've recently found a certain brand I really like, but it's pricey. $16.50 a pair & that's on sale from being $18.50...the Duluth Trading Co. Buck Naked Performance Underwear. The fabric is really nice, moisture-wicking, etc. That's the most I've ever spent on 1 pair.
My fiance's come to love Mack Weldon. He would have never known about it if I hadn't stumbled upon it. It's $28 a pair...yikes.

Just before the pandemic we were in Portland and stopped to eat at the Cracker Barrel, which happened to be right near Duluth, so we stopped in. Despite the price I just had to try the Buck Naked Performance Underwear
so I bought a pair. I think they were on sale for $17.50 +_. Anyway, I like them, but not enough to buy more. They are in the rotation along with my Costco briefs that run about $20 for 4 pairs.
Hanes briefs, in the 7 pack. $32 at Kohls (like everything else made of cotton, prices have skyrocketed in the last couple years) - works out to about $4.50 a pair.
All these new fancy men's underwear look like bike shorts. Way too hot here to get into that noise. I'm not going to wear a freaking pair of shorts almost down to my knees under my pants.
That type question is conditional to who the John is. There was one guy and for him, oh, those cost easily $50+......but this is what happens when your date rates packing heat.
