They arrived yesterday!! that was quick!
Preliminary results: They are both really lovely. The Santal of course is my favorite because I go for that deep, woodsy sort of fragrance, but the Cefiro (described as lime) is also lovely because it is fresh and smells like Spring to me.
The sizes are quite a bit bigger than I expected and were the smallest ones I could purchase. Never gonna buy a big one until I know a fragrance will have staying power. The Santal is a men's fragrance. The Cefiro a woman's. The website gives all kinds of info on the fragrances themselves, including the notes and estimates of how long they might last, although we know that can be different on everyone. My Coco lasts all day and then some ....
Doing my time test now. ha!!! I did wear the Santal to bed last night and it was still there this morning. Cefiro is much lighter and not predicted to last as long, but that's to be expected.
I love BPAL so much and these sound similar to that idea.
I used a couple of these Alchemy Labs fragrance oils a couple of summers ago. Got them at the high end health food store, actually, but love them, too! They don't carry it anymore.
Feedback:
The Santal eau de toilette is amazing, deep woodsy, a smidge spicey and to me, kinda sexy. But I'd give it 4-5 hours max for staying power, or maybe more accurately, where I can still smell it on my skin - longevity.
The Cefiro eau de toilette is very light and 'pretty.' The citrus tang is up front, reminiscent of summer and sun. This one last maybe 3 hours, so not what the perfumer estimates. Again we know fragrance is different on every one.
I probably wouldn't order full size bottles of either of these because they don't last long enough. If there were eau de parfum versions, I'd try those.
I will still use both, but if I'm doing something very special, I will bring the little bottle with me and refresh if needed. Neither fragrance is overpowering.
My Chanel Coco eau de toilette lasts all day and then some. I presume this is due to the oils used.
I'm not sure about my Coco....it was a gift and purchased just about 2 yrs ago at a major department store. It lasts forever!
That's good to know. So many perfumes have had the heck reformulated out of them in the past 5 or 10 years. It's nice that Coco has retained its strength.
