Hey Im in. WooHoo. Actually Im more into the jewelry than the sweaters. I really like em but Im way too hot for wearing sweaters. I could probably manage a cardigan. But I would have to be sedated to wear a turtleneck.
II do have a lot of vintage seasonal jewelry. I like the big tacky stuff the bestest, I like new tacky stuff too. The bigger the better. I also make some too out of old vintage package decorations and new Christmas ornaments and other klediments..
I have a brood of children but I do understand why elementary school teachers/admin wear them... sort of!
At school, maybe,...but at the mall, at restaurants, at the movies or to family/neighborhood Christmas parties...there is no excuse!! LOL
Pssst...Mrs Stewart...did you notice the thread is being overrun with themed sweater people...and now they are bringing out the holiday themed jewelry too!! I bet they wear it all at the same time with a matching holiday tote bag as well. Anyone want to admit dressing up the dog for the holidays too? LOL
Hey, NCYank!!! Hee Hee. Now you KNOW you wanna join our themed sweater group! And some seasonal jewelry, as well. And you mean you DO NOT dress up the dog for every holiday???????
I actually do collect limited edition holiday ornaments, and wear them as necklaces, on occasion, during the holidays.
And Miss Scarlett has holiday scarves . . .

I actually do collect sterling silver annual edition holiday ornaments (i.e. Towle, Reed & Barton, Wallace, etc) and wear them as necklaces, on occasion, during the holidays.

I must admit that DD LOVES to give me holiday jewelery. Maybe it is my fault. You see, I LOVE to decorate for Christmas and maybe, somehow, DD thought that I would love holiday jewelery as well. I have snowman and angel earrings (several pairs), holly pins and snowflake necklaces, a tree necklace with tiny little bulbs on it...the works. I do have to wear it at least on Christmas day but each year I get something new to add to the 'collection'.
So, I guess I can join the jewelry group, but only for one day, Christmas day.
Each year I tell DH to steer her away from the holiday jewelry when she goes shopping but he gets such a kick out of seeing me actually wearing it that he usually encourages her. Strange cuz he is usually such a nice man...LOL. If he keeps it up I might have DS buy him a sweater with a reindeer on it....with a light up nose of course.
Steer DD to the limited edition holiday ornaments that you can use on the tree as well as wear as a necklace on a silver chain . . . then you can actually "use" the ornaments on the tree and still please DD by wearing one on Christmas Day on a chain. Maybe????
Ohhhhhh . . . I think your idea bout DS buying DH a reindeer sweater . . . remember in the movie - "Bridget Jones" . . . the holiday sweater debacle? Hee Hee.

That's just the sweater I had in mind. http://www.livinglikenooneelse.com/forum/images/smilies/laugh2.gif (broken link)
I can admit that the idea of sterling silver is much more appealing than faux pearl snowmen earrings or enameled tree necklaces, however, I wonder if anything large enough to serve as tree ornament might be too large to dangle from a chain around one's neck??

Are you sure you want me in the club? LOL
Hee Hee Hee.
Well, let me put it this way. I guess it always seemed appropriate to me - the ornaments around the neck - b/c Southerners often do this. As you know, we start collecting our sterling at age 18 (well, this was true for my generation - seriously doubt anyone does this any longer). So it was not unusual for girls to also start a collection of annual edition sterling ornaments, as well . . . a collection that then grows when one gets married . . .
Here is a picture of what I am talking about . . . it is 4 x 2 inches and looks nice on a 30 " sterling chain.

Yes, in the classroom...of course. Theme sweaters make shopping for my MIL easier during the holidays I always tell the clerk it is not for me.
