I have a son that is a student at UA in the honors college of the Walton School. We have been very impressed with the university in all regards. He was accepted to several higher ranked, and some would say, more prestigious schools. He chose Arkansas however for several reasons, including the ranking of the business school as well as the general feel of the campus and its people (both staff and students). He really thought he would attend a much larger school (more than twice the size of UA) until we made a campus visit to that other school. That visit was a real eye opener for him. I guess what I'm saying is, while it may look good (or maybe not so good) on paper you really can't know for sure until you visit. We have found that the staff at UA is genuinely interested in the students, and in helping them be successful. I can compare it to another one of those big, more prestigious schools, because I also have a son at one of those schools.

As for transportation, UA does have a bus system that runs on and off campus. My son has a car with him but he rarely uses it. He has, however, complained that the buses aren't very good about being on schedule. He says he usually just walks of campus, unless its really cold, which it has been a lot lately. Besides, odds are that she'll have friends with cars that she can go places with.

They have a facebook page with their contact info. If there's a counselor over your region, email them, otherwise just pick one randomly.
